Anne Robinson was seen filming on the streets of London wearing a burka, just days after the pensioner came under criticism for her appearance.

Former The Weakest Link presenter was seen today on High Street Kensington wearing the controversial religious robe for women, which covered all but her eyes.

Wearing a black burka, with orange trim, she was asking passers-by about their thoughts and feelings on the attire - which some complain is sexist - for a new show.

Wearing a black burka, with orange trim, she was with another woman in a more ornate hijab asking passers-by about their thoughts and feelings on the attire - which some complain is sexist - for a new show

The robe worn by Anne Robinson (pictured) is one that is traditionally worn by women in some Muslim cultures

Its is just days after Anne Robinson, 71, was pictured looking puffy at 8am on Monday as she left the salon, left, but had 'scrubbed up' by the time the second picture was taken, right, just 12 hours later

It comes just days after the star hit the headlines when she was seen walking into a salon looking tired and puffy, and twelve hours later she looked like an entirely different person.

With a career spanning three decades, she has previously admitted to using botox and having a facelift.

And days after these photos emerged, an expert claimed she may have had yet another facelift - although the presenter denies this.

At 71 years old, she claims she is now dedicating her efforts to staying healthy - regularly exercising and eating well - rather than opting for cosmetic surgery.

The attire worn by Anne and her companion (pictured) in London today has caused some debate in Europe, with calls for it to be banned in a number of European nations

A previous survey in 2011 showed that 66 per cent of people in Britain supported banning the burka (seen being worn by Anne and her colleague), and it has been a hot topic of debate ever since

In 2009, Anne opened up about her surgery to Daily Mirror, saying: 'I had a facelift originally five years ago because I didn’t want to look like my mother. I did look like her.

'I certainly wasn’t scared when I had my facelift. Why would I be when I nearly died of alcoholism 35 years ago? I never thought it was a big deal to have it done. And I’ve never thought to keep it quiet.'

Speaking again of her surgery, she candidly admitted she would be open if she had more surgery: 'Of course I would say if I had had more surgery. I don’t think people are jealous. But I do think women are interested and that’s why I’ve always told the truth.

'Anything that allows women to feel better about themselves is worth the money.'

Last year when Anne once again showed a contrasting look, Dr Mabroor Bhatty of Transform Cosmetic Surgery said: 'She's been very open in the past about having a face lift and I suspect she may have had another one.

Anne Robinson made her name 30 years ago and has unashamedly talked about how she used botox due to demands and expectations from the TV industry that female presenters should look good

Anne (pictured in 1987 and more than 20 years later on The Weakest Link) once defended Botox, saying: ‘Do you know that the average woman of my age is sized between 16 and 18 and has at least two chins?'

He added: 'I wouldn't be surprised if she's had a neck lift to keep her jaw nice and defined. The treatments and procedures have worked well for her but age and gravity can't be kept at bay forever.'

The presenter once said: 'My appearance is all down to maintenance. I'm like the Forth Rail Bridge.

'I run, I have facials, I eat an awful lot of salmon and salad. If you want to expose bare arms in primetime, there's no choice.'

She also once defended her use of Botox, saying: ‘Do you know that the average woman of my age is sized between 16 and 18 and has at least two chins?

'I’ve nothing against that, but you can’t simply talk about age - you have to look at the restrictions of television.’

Later in the day it was apparent why Anne was headed to the hairdressers as she stepped out with her daughter Emma Wilson to go to The Man Booker Prize International Ceremony in London.

The swollen nature of her face appeared to have reduced yet she still lathered on a heavy mask of cosmetics.

Sporting a youthful ensemble, Anne looked a totally different person as she joined her pretty daughter at the bash.
