Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi has affirmed that the petroleum sector continues to implement comprehensive, proactive plans to secure the local market’s natural gas needs.

He stressed the importance of managing shifts in consumption with high efficiency and flexibility, while maintaining maximum readiness to handle any emergencies or developments.

This came as the minister reviewed the operational status of the national natural gas grid directly from the Egyptian Natural Gas Company (GASCO) control center.

He inspected the steady flow of gas to various domestic sectors and evaluated strategic plans to meet energy demands through the remainder of the summer season.

During his visit, the minister verified uninterrupted gas supplies to power generation plants to ensure grid stability amid soaring temperatures.

He also monitored deliveries to the industrial sector to guarantee that factories operate at full capacity, alongside fulfilling domestic market requirements and export commitments.

Badawi noted that decisive state measures, backed by the political leadership and the government, have successfully met local demand throughout the first half of the summer.

Key actions included procuring regasification vessels and natural gas shipments, boosting domestic production, and implementing forward-looking supply strategies, he said.

Concluding his remarks, the minister underscored the necessity of continuous coordination between the petroleum and electricity sectors, alongside other relevant authorities.

This integrated approach aims to guarantee sustainable energy supplies for all state sectors moving forward, supported by real-time monitoring of the grid, consumption rates, and supply flows.
