Even more whimsically awesome Fantasy miniatures are now available for you to pre-order from Goblin King Games for their stunning 32mm scale world of Moonstone. Goblins, Rogues and special birthday miniatures abound, with plenty of treats for those who love painting unique miniatures.
Gribbleboggers // MoonstoneWe start with the Gribbleboggers, which introduces a trilogy of odd little Goblins into the mix for your games of Moonstone. Leading the way, you have Chief of the Bog in Syril Swampfoot.
Syril Swampfoot // MoonstoneHe is an adorable* little fellow who can introduce a little bit of healing to your troupe alongside a solid dose of damage and when required, water. He is also, by Goblin standards, reliable, which isn't saying much. Backing him up, we have Stilts Kim.
Stilts Kim // MoonstoneWhen you're wandering through the swamps, being up high has its benefits. It also makes it a little harder for the enemy to get her and she's in the perfect position to feed friendly trolls** and other animals with her Gribblebog Grub. The last of the miniatures from this troupe comes in the form of Wanda Wetbones.
Wenda Wetbones // MoonstoneWanda Wetbones can get you whatever you want, as it's most likely stored somewhere in the pack on her back. Whilst Swampfoot was reliable, Wetbones is most assuredly not. All of that junk she's carrying around does end up giving her a bit of extra padding should the enemy come a'knocking.
Cunning RoguesNext up, we have a Rogues Gallery!
Rogues Gallery // MoonstoneThis set of three followers of Leshavult brings plenty of tricks to the tabletop. The awesome Streatham & Pickle lead the way, playing a merry little ditty as you wander the streets.
Streatham & Pickle // MoonstoneThat music has a magical quality and can keep your companions restored during the course of your games. It can also be distracting to the enemy, throwing them off their game at the opportune moment. Distraction also comes in the form of Pickles, who can also be sent to go and pilfer shiny things should the need arise. A stunning pairing for painters to explore.
Skuggi has her sights set on you next with a dagger just a flash away from your throat!
Skuggi // MoonstoneYou won't notice the knife coming for you but could it all be a ploy? She can also trick you and make off like a bandit*** after she's stuck one too many daggers in you. I think she looks great and provides you with a chance to paint darker tones when sat next to the charming Streatham.
Last but not least, we have Nancy Priston.
Nancy Priston // MoonstonePick a card, any card! She might doll out some energy, a bit of healing or perhaps even some damage. She's a master of manipulation and has a cheeky winning smile for good measure. I love the pair of cards that she has secretly stashed in her belt behind her pack, adding to the storytelling of the miniature.
Maddening MonstersAs well as the two new sets of three miniatures for your troupes, there are also some strange monsters for you to consider picking up. Maybe you'd like the Bejiminy?
Bejiminy // MoonstoneWe head back to the swamp with this particular set and Bejiminy, who will be bounding around looking to set those gnashers on something tasty. Bert "rides" around on the back of Bejiminy but I don't think that he actually adds anything to the partnership other than wild shrieking.
Bejiminy - Miniature // MoonstoneSuch is the random movement of Bejiminy that even being close to him is a hazard****. He will slow down those around him and could mean that you've got some good area control elements to play around with when you use Bejiminy as part of your troupe.
Last but not least, we have the birthday miniature in the form of the Insatiable Wendigo, although I don't think it's a particularly happy day for his foe.
Insatiable Wendigo // MoonstoneThis miniature won the Birthday Battle back in May and works as a new alternative sculpt for your Wendigo in your games of Moonstone. He would also make an excellent painting project if you were looking to try something new as a display piece.
Insatiable Wendigo // MoonstoneThe miniature also features a nod to the 1oth birthday miniature as the Wendigo is chowing down on the poor***** Goblin! A brilliant sculpt that manages to convey the dark comedy of the Moonstone world that sits alongside the whimsical.
As mentioned above, all of these miniatures are available to pre-order now and will be available for you to pick up in September. Not long to wait!
Which of the new miniatures do you like most from the new wave of Moonstone releases?
*Beauty is in the eye of the bee holder
**Friendly trolls are an oxymoron. You disagree? Moron.
***Probably good, considering she's something of a bandit. Fulfils the job description.
****I've been to many FLGS and know the smell. Fewer legs, though.
***** I shouldn't make judgements on his social status. He might have been rich.
