The end-to-end packaging solution combines robotics, horizontal form-fill-seal and vertical form-fill-seal, vision guidance, and integrated controls.
Quest, a ProMach brand and manufacturer of industrial automation and robotic packaging equipment, is introducing its flexible robotic case packing and palletizing technology as part of Flexible One. This fully integrated packaging platform brings together primary packaging, secondary packaging, and end-of-line automation from multiple ProMach brands into a single, coordinated system, the brand says.
The solution was developed in response to customer collaboration and feedback, and aims to address three critical challenges facing manufacturers today:
"Manufacturers today are being asked to do more with fewer resources while supporting a wider variety of products and package formats than ever before," says Jae Hong, VP and general manager at Quest. "Flexible One solutions are designed specifically to address these challenges by combining the adaptability of robotics with the simplicity of operator-friendly controls and the performance advantages of fully integrated automation."
According to the brand, a key differentiator of Flexible One is its production flexibility, which is driven by an integrated robotics architecture designed to optimize the entire packaging process. Working alongside fellow ProMach companies, Quest, a Fanuc Authorized System Integrator, identified specific packaging technologies including pouch forming and filling and robotic case packing and palletizing, to provide a single-sourced turn-key integrated solution. Selection of the various technologies focused specifically on striving to expand a customer's range of primary packaging styles and materials, as well as secondary pack styles and configurations.
At the heart of Flexible One is Quest's QX250 robotic case packer and QB321 robotic palletizer, which work together to automate secondary packaging and end-of-line operations while supporting rapid changeovers, multiple package formats, changing case styles, and evolving production requirements, the brand says.
The QX250 robotic case packer supports a wide range of pouch sizes, case styles, pack patterns, and retail-ready configurations within a single system, reportedly allowing manufacturers to efficiently manage multiple SKUs, accommodate evolving customer requirements, and complete quick changeovers with minimal downtime. To make these fast transitions possible, the system features dedicated end-of-arm tooling that is stored directly inside the machine, Quest notes.
The QB321 robotic palletizer aims to further streamlines operations through recipe-driven controls that enable operators to create, store, and modify pallet patterns through an intuitive HMI without mechanical changeovers or additional tooling. Together, these capabilities help reduce operational complexity while supporting production agility for snack food, ready-to-eat, frozen food, and more.
Quest will demonstrate the Flexible One system live in the ProMach booth (S-3660) at PACK EXPO International 2026 in Chicago, IL (Oct. 18–21). Attendees can experience the technology in action and learn from Quest engineers how integrated robotics can possibly build more adaptable and resilient packaging operations.
