Chillaxing Pleasantness? Cozy Peacefulness? OH, I see, C.P. = "Cosmic Placidity"! What a treat from Lufia II: Of Gods and Men though! Anything with a crystalline piano is an automatic "will listen", so go give DjjD's serene piece of business a spin! With this being another time capsule piece, it was an earlier piece developed for the album with DjjD apparently just reaching in the metaphorical fridge for leftovers:

"I approached Bahamut a while back with the thought of being able to grab whatever tune was left from the batch. There weren't too many to choose from at the time and this one just stuck out quite a bit. Very adventurous-sounding, mellow. I asked him if I could write a remix. So, here's a mixture of things, you have your chippy elements covered in pads and a bassline that's fairly minimal. Hope you guys like it. It took me a while to figure how to arrange this one, and I hope I did it justice. :)"

Once more, we have a stellar example of not needing nostalgia to channel an arrangement concept that resonates, so respect to Jake for making a "leftover" source tune choice not sound like the musical equivalent of reheated nachos. :-D Then-judge DragonAvenger evaluated this one, appreciating the non-obvious way DjjD transformed the theme:

"Listening to it a couple of times made me realize that the subtle use of the source was really tasteful. Love the gentle approach to the opening and the energy throughout."

Then-fellow judge Palpable was also taken in by the scene DjjD set, co-signing Deia's praise for his creative handling of the original theme:

"The stark intro was quite attention-grabbing. With the rain sounds and the piano sounding hundreds of feet away, this painted a vivid, vast picture. The build was really well-done, with small electronic touches added in until the beat started. I loved the chill-out vibe - definitely not the most obvious choice for the source melody, but it works!"

This one's also comes highly recommended by album director Gario for squarely tapping into the shape of water:

"An arrangement of an underwater source that also sounds like it represents the deep, blue ocean? Don't mind if I do! The rich pads and light monosynths that carry this song really sound like it's taking you to an underwater wonderland, and I wouldn't have it any other way."

A tip of the cap to DjjD both for the title nod to Queensrÿche as well as beautiful work with a truly placid take on Yasunori Shiono's Lufia II score! Whether your itch is scratched by mellower music like this or aggro arrangements like that, Lufia II: Of Gods and Men is a diverse collection of tributes to Taito's low-key JRPG jewel that we earnestly recommend! :-)
