Elsewhere in the lineup, entry-level Laredo and Laredo X trims ditch the older 8.4-inch infotainment screen for a 10.1-inch Jumbotron; while the tony Limited gets a wireless charging pad and automatic power folding mirrors when equipped with the Reserve package.

Some new colours really bring the GC’s palette back to form after a few years of dour greyscale, including hues like Red Hot, Olive Green, Ember, Red Rock, and Midnight Sky. Some of those shades are listed as “late-availability” items, but the fact they’re available at all shows Stellantis is listening after Carlos Tavares nearly ran the place into the ground.

Under the hood, two powertrain selections remain: a 3.6L V6 in the Laredo and Laredo X; or a 2.0L turbo four-banger in everything else. The former might be older than Methuselah, but is proven and generally reliable as the sunrise; the latter produces about 325 horsepower, and of all the engines available to Stellantis, it certainly is one.

(This author pines for the day when a 5.7L V8 Hemi was part of the Grand Cherokee stable in many trims. Again, thanks for nothing, Carlos. Here’s hoping its revived state in the Ram leads to its [re-]inclusion elsewhere.)

Through the first half of 2026, the Grand Cherokee has sold 4,553 units, about a thousand fewer than the Wrangler and a handful more than the Compass. These 2027 models are available to order now, and expected to show up on dealer lots near the end of this year.
