StudioCanal has released a new trailer for ‘Pressure,’ the gripping World War II drama from director Anthony Maras, which explores the extraordinary 72 hours leading up to D-Day when one unpredictable force threatens to derail the largest seaborne invasion in history: the British weather.
Starring BAFTA Award winner Andrew Scott, Academy Award winner Brendan Fraser and Academy Award nominee Kerry Condon, ‘Pressure’ takes audiences behind the scenes of one of the most consequential decisions of the Second World War, where military strategy, scientific judgement and an increasingly dangerous ticking clock collide.
Set in the days before June 6, 1944, all the pieces are seemingly in place for the Allied invasion of Normandy. But there is one crucial element that cannot be controlled: the weather.
Andrew Scott stars as Britain’s chief meteorological officer James Stagg, who is called upon to deliver the most consequential forecast in history. His predictions place him in a tense standoff with the Allied leadership, as the wrong conditions could devastate the invasion force, while delaying the operation could give German intelligence enough time to discover the Allies’ plans.
With only 72 hours until D-Day, Stagg must stand by his scientific judgement while facing enormous pressure from Supreme Allied Commander Dwight D. Eisenhower, played by Brendan Fraser. The decision is made even more difficult by the memory of a catastrophic D-Day rehearsal and the knowledge that millions of lives could ultimately depend on his forecast.
Stagg’s trusted aide, Captain Kay Summersby, played by Kerry Condon, is the one person he can confide in as the pressure intensifies. Meanwhile, the Allied command weighs the devastating consequences of either moving forward or postponing the invasion.
The film’s stellar ensemble also includes Golden Globe and Emmy Award winner Damian Lewis as Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery and Chris Messina as Irving P. Krick, Eisenhower’s trusted wartime meteorologist.

‘Pressure’ is in UK and Ireland cinemas from September 9, 2026.
