Paramount+ has officially greenlit ‘Ascent,’ a brand-new character-driven thriller that will see Academy Award winner Viola Davis take centre stage in a high-stakes world of corporate power, crisis management and family drama.
Created by acclaimed writer John Logan, whose credits include ‘Skyfall,’ ‘Gladiator,’ ‘Michael’ and ‘Penny Dreadful.’
In ‘Ascent,’ Davis will portray Catriona Vail, an elite corporate fixer whose expertise in navigating billion-dollar scandals has made her one of the most sought-after crisis managers in the world.
However, when her estranged daughter finds herself in grave danger, Vail must turn the same ruthless instincts and tactical brilliance she has used to protect powerful clients into weapons for her own family’s survival.

Joining him as executive producers are Michael Aguilar (Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, Kidding, The Departed), alongside Viola Davis and Julius Tennon through their JuVee Productions banner.
‘Ascent’ will be produced by Paramount Television Studios. Paramount+ has confirmed that production on ‘Ascent’ is scheduled to begin in Los Angeles in 2027.
