PJSC "ZiO-Podolsk" (part of the engineering division of Rosatom - JSC "Atomenergomash") paid a working visit to the delegation of the People's Republic of Bangladesh headed by Ambassador Ahsan Kamrul.

The main purpose of the visit was to check the status of manufacturing equipment for Rooppur NPP under construction in the Republic of Bangladesh.

"During my call on the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh just before my departure for Moscow, she told me that my most important task in Russia would be to facilitate the construction and commissioning of Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant Project on time. For us, the main task now is to harmonize the processes of manufacturing of equipment here with the construction work at the plant site in Bangladesh," the Ambassador stressed.

During the meeting, Anatolii Smirnov, General Director of PJSC "ZiO-Podolsk", said: "Our plant is an enterprise with a century-old history. It has extensive experience in manufacturing various equipment, including for foreign customers. But the "Rooppur" project is a priority for us. Not only for the plant, but also for the industry as a whole. The equipment for Unit 1was manufactured and delivered by us ahead of schedule. We also plan to produce the products for Unit 2 ahead of schedule and ship them this year," he assured.

During a visit to the production site, the dignitaries saw how the equipment for Unit 2 of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant under construction is being created. They learned about unique technological solutions used in the manufacture of critical products. In particular, the members of the delegation were able to observe the process of mechanical processing of ECCS tank on a horizontal boring machine Skoda (Czech Republic), evaluated the progress of manufacturing of MSR and HPH.

The parties also discussed issues that need to be agreed upon in order to optimize the control processes in equipment manufacturing related to conformity assessment to ensure the equipment manufacturing schedule.
