vivo has officially teased the vivo S2 in India, confirming that the smartphone will launch in the country soon. The teaser marks the return of the vivo S series to the Indian market after the launch of the vivo S1 in 2019.

The teaser video shared by vivo reveals a part of the smartphone’s rear panel, showcasing a pill-shaped horizontal camera module with two large camera rings and a separate circular light ring. The design closely matches previously leaked renders and dummy units.

Although vivo has not officially announced a launch date, recent reports suggest the smartphone could debut in India on 6th August, with sales expected to begin on 11th August.

According to recent leaks, the vivo S2 may feature a curved display with a centre-aligned hole-punch cutout and a polycarbonate frame and rear panel. The smartphone is expected to sport a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

While earlier reports suggested the phone could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC, newer leaks indicate vivo may instead use the MediaTek Dimensity 7360 SoC. The final processor will be confirmed during the official launch. Furthermore, it is expected to arrive with 8 GB RAM paired with 128 GB Storage or 256 GB storage options.

On the camera front, the vivo S2 is tipped to feature a 50 MP primary camera with OIS, accompanied by an 8 MP ultra-wide camera. It is also expected to support 4K video recording using both the rear and front cameras.

The smartphone is further rumoured to pack a 7,000 mAh battery with support for 80W wired fast charging, wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging. Pricing remains unofficial, although leaked internal retail listings have hinted at a premium price segment.
