Add MobiGyaan as a preferred source on Googlevivo India just launched its new compact flagship smartphone – the vivo X300 FE in India under its premium vivo X300 Series, priced starting from ₹79,999. The vivo X300 FE is positioned as a more compact flagship alternative to its vivo X300 Ultra sibling, launched alongside, while retaining advanced camera capabilities. The smartphone brings together flagship-grade internals (Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC), ZEISS-enhanced cameras, advanced AI capabilities, modular photography support, a sleek and premium aluminum-glass design, and a large 6,500 mAh battery in a compact form factor. We got our hands on the device shortly after launch, and here’s how our first impressions unfold.

Inside the box, vivo includes the essentials expected from the brand:

The vivo X300 FE acts as a more compact alternative to the top-of-the-line vivo X300 Ultra within the X300 lineup. The key features and highlights of the vivo X300 FE include a 6.31-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display, flagship 3nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, ZEISS-backed triple rear cameras with advanced telephoto optics, AI-powered photography tools, and support for the vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2. The vivo X300 FE feels like a serious attempt by vivo to blend flagship photography, compact ergonomics, and premium build quality into one balanced package.
The vivo X300 FE immediately leaves a strong first impression with its compact and sophisticated design. The smartphone doesn’t look overly flashy, but it carries a sleek, refined, premium aesthetic that feels distinctly flagship in hand. Right out of the box, what stands out is how solid and dense the device feels despite maintaining a compact footprint. The aerospace-grade aluminum frame, combined with the smooth matte finish, gives it a polished and sturdy feel, while the rounded edges improve grip significantly.
Despite packing flagship hardware and a large 6,500 mAh battery, the phone remains surprisingly slim at 7.99 mm and weighs just 191 grams, making it extremely comfortable for one-handed usage. vivo claims the X300 FE is India’s only smartphone with the largest 6,500 mAh battery in the compact flagship segment. vivo has also added IP68 + IP69 certifications for dust and water resistance, along with SCHOTT Xensation protection and SGS Five-Star Drop Resistance certification, giving the device a reassuring level of durability. We got the Urban Olive variant for our hands-on, while it is also available in Lilac Purple and Noir Black color options.
On the front, the smartphone features a 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED display that looks incredibly immersive thanks to its slim bezels and symmetrical layout. vivo has used a 1.5K resolution panel (2,640 x 1,216 pixels) with adaptive 1 – 120 Hz refresh rate support and an astonishing 5,000 nits peak brightness. The display also supports ZEISS Master Color Display technology and 4,320 Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. In real-world usage, the panel feels exceptionally bright, vibrant, and smooth, whether indoors or under direct sunlight. It’s easily among the brightest compact flagship displays currently available.
The ergonomics are another highlight. The phone feels compact without compromising usability, and the flat frame design helps avoid accidental touches. The power and volume buttons sit comfortably on the right edge, while the bottom houses the USB Type-C port, primary microphone, dual SIM tray, and speaker grille. Stereo speakers with Hi-Res Audio support provide a rich and balanced sound output, while the in-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner 2.0 feels extremely fast and reliable, even with slightly wet fingers.
Under the hood, the vivo X300 FE packs serious flagship power. It runs on the 3nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 octa-core SoC paired with 12 GB LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and up to 512 GB UFS 4.1 storage. vivo has also integrated a 4005 mm² VC liquid cooling system with thermal graphite layers for sustained performance. During our brief hands-on usage, the device felt exceptionally fluid with fast app launches, smooth multitasking, and highly responsive animations throughout the UI.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 PlatformThe Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 features an octa-core 64-bit CPU configuration (2 + 6 cores):
The triple rear camera setup is undoubtedly among the biggest highlights of the vivo X300 FE. The camera system is co-engineered with ZEISS optics and introduces some impressive imaging technologies. The primary camera is a 50 MP Sony IMX921 sensor with OIS support, while the secondary 8 MP ultra-wide camera handles landscape and group shots. The third rear camera is a 50 MP IMX882 periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and support for up to 100x digital zoom.
One of the standout additions is compatibility with the vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 accessory, enabling up to 200mm equivalent focal length using a compact Kepler-based optical structure. vivo is clearly pushing modular smartphone photography further here. The camera system also supports ZEISS Multifocal Portrait modes across multiple focal lengths (23mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, and 100mm), along with ZEISS Style Bokeh effects and Aura Light integration.
On the front, the smartphone features a 50 MP autofocus selfie camera with support for high-resolution selfies and 4K video recording. vivo has also heavily integrated AI across the camera experience with tools such as AI True Clarity Engine, AI Reflection Erase, AI Image Expander, AI Erase, AI Magic Move, and Street Photography Mode with 14-bit processing. We are yet to fully test the camera system in various conditions and will share detailed samples in our full review.
Despite its slim and compact form factor, the vivo X300 FE houses a massive 6,500 mAh battery, which vivo claims is the largest in India for this screen size category. The smartphone supports both 90W wired FlashCharge and 40W wireless FlashCharge. vivo also includes the fast charger in the box, which is always good to see in the premium segment.
On the software front, the vivo X300 FE runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16. The software feels polished and feature-rich with smooth animations and deep AI integrations throughout the system. Features like Origin Island, AI Search, AI Captions, AI Creation tools, vivo Office Kit, Shake & Share, and AI Audio Noise Eraser add a more futuristic and productivity-oriented feel to the device. vivo has also promised 5 years of OS upgrades and 7 years of security updates, which is a strong long-term commitment.
Early Verdict – vivo X300 FEThe vivo X300 FE stands out as the premium compact flagship that gets almost everything right on first impressions. It combines a stunning ultra-bright 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display, powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 performance, ZEISS-backed camera system with modular telephoto capabilities, premium aluminum-glass construction, and a huge 6,500 mAh battery – all while maintaining a slim and lightweight form factor. The addition of OriginOS 6, AI-powered features, IP68 + IP69 durability, ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, and wireless charging further strengthens its premium appeal.
From our early hands-on experience, the vivo X300 FE feels like one of the most complete compact flagship smartphones currently available in the Indian market with enhanced camera powers. We’ll be testing its cameras, zoom abilities, gaming performance, thermals, and battery in greater detail soon, but so far, the X300 FE leaves a very strong first impression as a well-balanced premium flagship focused on design, photography, AI experiences, and everyday usability.
