"Without further ado though today, we're talking about The Simpsons Hit and Run.
Move over GTA because it seems like the original sandbox which allows you to just mess up a town is coming back in a big way. We've seen a lot about The Simpsons Hit and Run over the internet over the course of the past couple of years because it's been one of the many titles that people have talked about potentially getting a remaster and this isn't without any sort of evidence. There's been some rumours, there's been some speculation but there's also been some pointing towards a developer might take it on, the original developer going through a rebrand and one of the show's writers from The Simpsons sharing a message about The Simpsons City Run and now the original creator of The Simpsons Matt Groening has said in which basically meant that, you know, it's still up in the air. I think that's probably because it is still up in the air on whether there can be any official confirmation of The Simpsons Hit and Run coming, because obviously if you want The Simpsons Hit and Run coming back in some form, as Groening says, we don't know whether that's a remake or a remaster, as Ben writes here, we don't know when that might be coming out, and these are all things that you probably need to be able to answer to people when you announce that project properly. In any case, It's a sign of hope. It's a really, really big sign of hope for anyone that wanted to see The Simpsons hit a run again. The Simpsons is still ongoing, miraculously, considering it is, you know, pushing into its 30s and its terms of seasons. and yet it's still finding more, it's still finding more to do, more stories to say and yet in video games we've not really seen The Simpsons come out and you know make a splash since probably The Simpsons movie game but The Simpsons Hit and Run was a beloved classic that allowed you to essentially play GTA before you were in your teen years because it was a open world sandbox game that let you play as Homer, Bart, Marge, whoever you wanted to play as and drive around in a series of vehicles, technically just trashing Springfield. There was a sense of story to the game, but there wasn't really an overt. From what I remember from my playing of it, it was a lot of just bashing about and not doing anything in particular. That's nothing wrong with that, but at the same time, it might be something that they'll want to tweak or change with the new approach to the game. Otherwise, though, It's a massively, excuse me, sorry, it's a massively nostalgic favourite for a lot of people and I think that no matter what form it returns in, whether it's just a glossy remaster or a full-on remake, people would be excited and people would be rushing to check this one out."
"Perhaps though, maybe don't launch it in November, Disney. Let me know if you would play The Simpsons Hit and Run Remake, Remaster, whatever you would want it to be.
