"Hello everyone and welcome back to another GRTV News. Today we're going to be touching on a little bit of the things that happened over the weekend as part of D23, the big Disney sort of fan festival that they run every year, I want to say? Might be binaurally, a bit like Star Wars Celebration. But anyway, there was one over the last weekend and there was all sorts of Disney news being shared across the various different films and movie studios they operate, Pixar, Walt Disney Animation Studios, and then of course Marvel Studios. We also got news about what's planned with future Star Wars stuff as well, Disney theme parks, a whole lot of stuff. But we're gonna be talking about the Marvel stuff for the time being because they finally confirmed, officially confirmed a bunch of the cast for the X-Men movie."
"Marvel Studios revealed the main cast for their first original X-Men movie, now confirmed for a May 2028 release.
Most of the cast members had already been announced or rumoured. Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Conrad as Cyclops, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Adam Driver as Mr."
"Sinister, plus the announcements of Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier, Maya Boyd as Storm, and Indy Navarrette as Rogue. And that's the official confirm there. Nathan Milbury is Mr. Sinister. It's just his human name, I guess, or normal name, whatever you want to say. The announcement of the Obsession star in a major role in Marvel Studios should have been met with widespread excitement."
"However, a significant portion of Marvel fans were left disappointed because it debunked the rumours and reports that had been going around for the last two weeks that said that Kaley Spaney would be cast as Rogue. Even if the report of Spaney had not been confirmed, many fans had already envisioned Spaney, acclaimed by her roles in Priscilla Civil War and Alien Romulus, as Rogue and some had already made fan arts of her when Indiana Verret appeared on the D23 stage. Many were angry and frustrated and made their voices heard on social media."
"Indianavarette has been dangling over public cancellation recently. The announcement has been especially confusing because, two weeks ago, Indianavarette said she would love to play Mystique, so fans had already imagined her in that role, and Spani as Rogue. Beyond personal preferences, as both are very talented young actresses, the announcement also comes at a time where a small but vocal portion of the audience has grown a major resentment over Indianavarette for her public support of Johnny Depp. Who is making a return to major commercial movies this Christmas in T. West's Ebeneezer, so her casting comes shrouded in even more negativity. However, with the Marvel movie about Mutants filming next year, we should expect more members of the cast to be announced later. There are still no Beast, no Mystique, no Magneto, no Wolverine, so some fans still have hopes that Spidey will be cast in another role like Kitty Pryde."
"Now the thing is, I don't think you can possibly knock something until you've seen it yet. And all it is is a casting news. Now if Indiana Verret ultimately puts on a poor performance as Rogue, then you look at it and you say, we've got a problem here. But for the time being, she's just come off making Obsession, where she was absolutely fantastic in the film, and all of a sudden she's getting knocked for playing Rogue."
"We haven't even seen how she's going to perform as the character yet, so I think it's a bit of an unusual thing to get so excited. to short.
I think Kaylee Spadey would be an interested rogue, but it's definitely not the end of the world that she's not being cast as rogue. You know, it's a character in a movie at the end of the day. And maybe, maybe just maybe, because nobody knows what's really happened here, maybe Kaylee Spadey didn't want to play rogue. You know, who knows? We don't know this information. So it's a bit of a strange thing to get so, to have to see people get so, well, go so explosive about it. It does also surprise me that Indi Navarrette is Again teetering on this verge of being cancelled as of recent. I don't know how that's changed so quickly. The whole thing about supporting Johnny Depp is an odd thing as well because the court proceeding has ended and has been ended for a couple of years now and it basically ruled that both Johnny Depp and Amber Heard were both pretty terrible people in their own respects, or at least in the way they acted around one another. Showing any support for an actor like that is, to me, strange. As a reason as to why you'd be cancelled, it just doesn't add up to me. Again, it just feels like everyone is... Everything is just spouting out of control for no reason whatsoever here. Let's see the movie and let's go from there. But anyway, talking about the actual movie itself, the most exciting thing here is that it's coming out in May 2028. And the reason why that's exciting is because now we know the confirmed dates of two things coming in 2028. We know that X-Men is in May 2028 and we know that Black Panther is in... I think it was the December window for that one. And we also know that Ghost Rider is coming out in 2028, but they never put a release date on it. Now, when that was announced that Ghost Rider was coming in 2028, I think the majority of us all expected it to be the May window, and that them to save a sort of a big summer blockbuster for maybe, what, the third movie is a big summer blockbuster in late July or something like that, or maybe to have Ghost Rider launch a little bit earlier, maybe sort of like May, August, May or April time or something like that. Now that X-Men's locked in for May and Black Panther's locked in for December, does this mean we're going to get Ghost Rider either in August, September or is Ghost Rider now going to be a February movie, the first movie to have come after Avengers Secret Wars? I'm not too sure it would be that early because Avengers Secret Wars is only in December 2027, so I think getting a movie out in in I just think July is a bit soon after a May premiere, so maybe August, maybe September? Maybe they save it as a spooky season release? Early October? I don't know. So we've got a lot of question marks in regards to that, but it looks like 2028 is going to be a good year for Marvel fans, so stay tuned for more information on all that good news. Again, there's still additional mutants to cast, so no doubt we'll have more information on that relatively soon. But otherwise, that's all the time that I have, but I'll be back now Context, Context, Context, Context, Context, Context"
