VC Render – A New Graphics Overhaul Mod for GTA Vice City
Hi everyone,
I'd like to introduce VC Render, a new graphics overhaul mod for GTA Vice City, built completely from scratch.
Important: This project has been renamed to VC Render. If you've been following the previous development, don't worry—the project is the same; only the name has changed.
VC Render aims to modernize Vice City's visuals while preserving the game's iconic atmosphere and classic art style. Rather than completely changing the game's identity, it enhances lighting, shadows, reflections, and overall image quality without sacrificing the original Vice City look and feel.
Current Features
Single Dynamic Shadows
Per-Pixel Point Lights
Fog
Custom Skybox
New Car Reflections
Improved Shadow Quality
Planned Features
Cascaded Shadow Maps (CSM)
Sun Shafts (God Rays)
Water Reflections
Performance
VC Render has been developed with optimization as a priority. Despite using modern rendering techniques, the current beta runs at approximately 40–50 FPS on an Intel Core i5-4570 using only Intel HD Graphics (no dedicated GPU).
Compatibility
Game Version: GTA Vice City v1.0
Graphics Support: Optimized for Intel and NVIDIA GPUs. AMD support is currently unavailable. Older AMD hardware, such as Athlon-based systems, is not supported, although the renderer may run on newer AMD Radeon GPUs and Ryzen integrated graphics.
Installation
Copy all files into your GTA Vice City game directory.
Beta Notice
This is an early beta release, so some rendering issues or visual quirks may still be present. The renderer is actively being improved, and additional features are planned for future updates.
Bug reports, constructive feedback, and suggestions are always appreciated.

Special thanks to Resk for fixing several DFF model files.
