Craig McLachlan breaks down tears in a new trailer for the upcoming season of Channel Seven's SAS Australia: Buried Alive.

The actor, 58, is seen being interrogated by host Ant Middleton, 42, in a desert camp in the Middle East, and tries in vain to plead with him.

'I was found not guilty,' a distraught McLachlan tells him.

McLachlan was acquitted of assault charges after he was charged with assault and indecent assault over complaints from female co-stars in a stage production of the Rocky Horror Picture Show in Melbourne in 2014, during which he played the role of Frank-N-Furter.

He strongly denied the allegations against him.

Magistrate Belinda Wallington found him not guilty of 13 charges following a four-week contested hearing in the Victorian Melbourne Magistrates Court in December 2020.

This is just one scene in a newly dropped trailer for SAS Australia: Buried Alive, which looks to be the reality show's most thrilling season yet.

The trailer begins by dropping its celebrity contestants in a sandy desert, which the subtitles say is located in an 'undisclosed location in the Middle East'. 

The contestants are then seen being put through a series of grueling physical challenges, including running across the roof of a moving train and dodging grenades.

They are also seen being buried alive in coffins built in the sand.  

'The selection process is brutal. This is the hardest military course in the world. If you're weak, easily offended or physically unfit, leave now,' Middleton tells the contestants.

Anthony Mundine, former Roosters captain Boyd Cordner and Olympic swimmer Stephanie Rice will also star on the new series. 

Convicted drug smuggler Cassie Sainsbury, AKA Cocaine Cassie, will also be appearing.

Meanwhile, middle-distance runner Peter Bol, who finished fourth in the 800m at the last Olympics, was recently embroiled in a banned substance scandal with Athletics Australia - he was later cleared in his B sample of using banned substances.
