San Francisco, CA - The Dallas Wings fell at the Golden State Valkyries 78-70 Monday night at Chase Center. The Wings outscored the Valkyries 24-16 in the fourth quarter to narrow a once 20-point deficit down to six, but Dallas couldn't complete the comeback. Paige Bueckers scored a team-high 21 points, including 19 in the second half, while Arike Ogunbowale added 17 points. Dallas moves to 20-16 on the year while Golden State improves to 25-9, clinching a playoff berth with the win.
Bueckers reached the 20-point mark for the 21st time this season - third-most in the WNBA in 2026. With three assists on the night, Ogunbowale reached 1,000 for her career, while her 17 points brought her to 4,999 in her career. Awak Kuier recorded three blocks - her fifth game of the year with three or more blocks - taking over the top spot on the Wings career blocks list with 106 and counting. Alanna Smith scored in double figures for the fifth time in her last six games, tallying 13 points off 6-9 shooting to eclipse 1,500 career points.
Dallas finished the night shooting .448 from the field, .227 from three and .867 from the free-throw line, but was hobbled by 18 turnovers resulting in 20 Golden State points. The Valkyries shot .375 overall, .333 from three including 12 makes, and .857 from the charity stripe, getting 10 offensive rebounds which led to seven second-chance points. The Wings won the rebounding battle overall 33-30 and outscored Golden State in the paint (32-22) and on the fast break (9-5), but the Valkyries bench outscored the Dallas reserves 27-12.
Gabby Williams led the Valkyries with a game-high 23 points, while Williams and Veronica Burton each made a trio of three-pointers. The Valkyries' 78 points were their fewest scored since July 18, while the Wings' 70 was their second-fewest of the season.
The Wings return to Dallas to begin a stretch of six consecutive home games, starting with the Indiana Fever on Thursday at American Airlines Center. The game will air nationally on Prime and locally on WFAA, with tipoff set for 7 p.m. CT.

First Quarter: Dallas 19, Golden State 20
The Wings utilized a starting lineup of Paige Bueckers, Arike Ogunbowale, Alysha Clark, Jessica Shepard and Alanna Smith for the first time this season. Dallas continued to be without Aziaha James and Azzi Fudd due to injury. It marked the ninth different starting lineup of the year for the Wings.
The Wings started off hot, making four of their first five shots while the Valkyries sputtered to a 1-7 clip with Dallas leading 9-3 early. The Wings saw their lead grow to as many as seven, 15-8, before Golden State closed the quarter on a 12-4 run to lead 20-19 after 10 minutes, punctuated by a buzzer-beater from midcourt. Smith had a game-high nine points after one, matching her season high for points in a single quarter. Dallas shot .563 overall while Golden State posted a .389 clip. The Wings attacked the paint early with 12 of their 19 points coming inside.
Second Quarter: Dallas 9, Golden State 24
Golden State started to find their rhythm offensively in the second while turnovers took a toll on the Wings. Dallas committed five miscues for nine Valkyries points, while Golden State bumped its shooting percentage to .556, making four threes. An 11-2 Valkyries run midway through the frame forced a Wings timeout after they fell into a 33-25 deficit, the largest margin either team had led by up until that point. Ogunbowale knocked down a three to halt the run and get Dallas back within five, 33-28, before Golden State responded with threes on its next three possessions, forcing another Wings timeout, down 42-28 (1:36). The Valkyries would lead by as many as 16 as the Wings were limited to single-digit scoring in a quarter for just the third time this season. Dallas shot just .214 in the second, including 1-5 from deep, to find themselves down 44-28 at the half.
Third Quarter: Dallas 18, Golden State 18
Clark struck first for the Wings as Dallas chipped away at the 16-point deficit, narrowing it down to eight, 52-44, with 4:04 to go. Bueckers heated up in the third after starting 1-7 from the field and 0-2 from deep - going 3-5 overall towards nine points. After Dallas got back within eight, 54-46, Golden State responded by closing the quarter on an 8-0 run to regain its 16-point lead, 62-46. Dallas shot .417 from the field to Golden State's .368 clip, but the Valkyries made a trio of three-pointers to keep the Wings at bay. Turnovers continued to be an issue for Dallas with five miscues resulting in five points for the Valkyries.
Fourth Quarter: Dallas 24, Golden State 16
A 9-0 Wings run narrowed a 20-point deficit down to 11, 66-55, with five minutes to play as Dallas kept Golden State off the scoreboard for nearly five minutes in the middle of the fourth. Bueckers led the charge with 10 points over the final 10 minutes, with Dallas getting as close ae six with 39 seconds to play. Golden State would make its free-throws, going 7-8 over the final 1:12 of the game, to keep Dallas at a safe distance. The Valkyries shot just 3-17 (.176) over the final 10 minutes, but 9-10 from the free-throw line.
