Alberto Gonzalez has been appointed director of the Idaho Transportation Dept. (ITD) by Gov. Brad Little. Gonzalez has served Idahoans in various roles within state government for more than two decades. He replaces Scott Stokes, who retired as ITD director after serving the department in various capacities for the last 35 years, including as director the last four years.

Burns & McDonnell has promoted Jeff Allen to senior vice president for the Americas West. He will lead the firm’s Mountain, Southwest and California regions, overseeing operations across engineering, construction, consulting and environmental services for clients in the energy, infrastructure and buildings markets. Allen will also continue to lead the firm’s self-perform construction operations nationwide.

April Herrmann has joined global architecture and design firm HKS as principal and business development director for the sports practice. Based in Denver with a national focus, Herrmann brings more than 20 years of experience across the sports, entertainment and public assembly sectors. Prior to joining HKS, she held leadership roles at several multidisciplinary design firms, including DLR Group.

Suffolk has appointed Anthony Noll as vice president for estimating in the Las Vegas region. Noll joins Suffolk from PENTA Building Group and brings deep regional experience supporting complex hospitality, gaming and entertainment projects. His previous clients and projects include Hard Rock, Project 63, Versailles Tower and T-Mobile Arena. John Ritz joins Suffolk as senior marketing manager for pursuit marketing in its Las Vegas office. Ritz will support strategic pursuits and business development efforts as Suffolk continues to grow its presence across the region.

Howell Construction recently welcomed Arthur Heldt as director of preconstruction. Heldt brings experience managing preconstruction efforts in Denver’s health care, science and technology and commercial markets. He will work closely with Howell’s preconstruction and leadership teams and oversee project planning from pursuit to project start.

Sundt Construction has promoted Zachary Young to senior project manager for its water and wastewater group in the Southwest region. Young is leading the Cave Creek Water Reclamation Plant Rehabilitation project, helping deliver the first advanced water purification facility for the city of Phoenix.

Anthony Hakes joins Sundt as corporate controller, bringing 30 years of construction accounting and advisory experience to Sundt’s finance leadership team. Hakes succeeds Patrick Dooley, who will retire in June 2027.
