We are big fans of pearls over here..which happen to be June’s birthstone, you lucky summer-birthday people! But our preferred pearls usually come with some sort of a twist, rather than a proper strand. For example, we been wearing Bella Kai’s pearl-and-leather-cord necklace so happily for so long that we made it part of our Core Collection. And now…we’ve made something new.

Introducing our Oh My Pearls necklace!

The ‘Oh My Pearls’ Necklace is three freshwater pearls, strung on a red leather cord. We are really into pops of red this summer, and spent eons trying to find the right shade of red. (Turns out it’s “brick,” FYI.) The hardware is gold-plated and sized so that the pearls won’t slide off when the necklace is open, and the barrel clasp at the back was chosen after testing option after option until we found one that’s genuinely easy to twist open and closed.

Oh and the price point is under $100, too.

While we love the Bella Kai necklace for a little edge, this twist on pearls is a slightly girlier take and almost…a little…flirty?

We’ve found that this necklace is both easy to wear and a lil’ bit of a statement, thanks to the red. There’s something almost beachy about this piece – maybe it’s the natural shape of the freshwater pearls? In any case, I’ve been wearing mine to dress up t-shirts and dress down dresses – it really does hit that sweet spot.

Abby, my partner-in-crime for all of these necklace designs, has been layering her ‘Oh My Pearls’ with any sort of gold necklace (but lately it’s been our new Summerchime Necklace). I especially loved how this combo looked with a slouchy button-down shirt.

Abby also surprised me by pairing it with a frilly, romantic top. This pairing makes literally zero sense, yet…works? It struck me as really fresh and fun. Well played, Abby.
