ILA have shared new single ‘Sorry’.

The band recently spent time opening for The Streets, and their worldly-wisdom fitted in perfectly alongside Mike Skinner’s magnetic poetry.

Incoming album ‘Motherland’ saw ILA work alongside producer Mikko Gordon (The Smile, Idles, Arcade Fire, Beck), bolstering their imposing songwriting in the process.

The lyric sheet for the album is framed by symbolism, informed by the work of Turkish author Elif Shafak, in particular his novel There Are Rivers In The Sky.

The imagery pins down the connections between people through water, a theme that is illustrated on the album artwork, constructed by Salah Van Puymbroeck and creative director Moenia Ladhib.

New single ‘Sorry’ is out now, and it flips the script on guilt and regret, learning to discern resilience where pain previously lay.

The four-piece interlock perfectly, with ILA saying of the song: “Turning heartbreak into resilience, finding strength where there was once only pain.”
