Pacific North West group fish narc will release their new album ‘Uncle’ on October 16th.

The album lands this Autumn, and it finds the ever-productive Olympia (and now LA based) band finding a renewed sense of focus. Haunted by the sounds of the North West – Mudhoney, for example – fish narc also show signs of the K Records stable, who they are helpfully signed to.

Out on October 16th, singer and main songwriter Ben Funkhouser says of the album:

“I feel like ‘Uncle’ is the best record I’ve ever made. The songs grew without changing, the textures are spot on, and Alex  [Farrar] and I saw eye to eye about almost everything. The album represents what I want for my band  and songwriting and is the touchstone on which all my future work will be based.”

New single ‘Much Less Me’ seems to bring the band’s influences into focus – you can hear shades of early Sub Pop in there, but there’s also something fey, melodic, and utterly their own.

An ace jumping off point, it’s backed by a video shot on Super 8 by frequent K collaborator Jolie M-A.
