On Tuesday's episode of Married At First Sight Australia, Patrick Dwyer treated his bride Belinda Vickers to a very unusual date. 

Meant to be a romantic surprise, Patrick, 27, lured Belinda, 29, to a cricket oval, where she was treated to a marching band and cheerleaders. 

Patrick came cartwheeling out from behind a drummer, before launching into a cheerleading routine while shaking a pair of silver pom poms. 

Belinda appeared delighted, shrieking and covering her mouth as Patrick came tumbling towards her wearing an 'I love MAFS' shirt. 

Fans watching at home were horrified by the awkward display, with several sharing their thoughts on social media. 

One person Tweeted: 'Is it possible to die from excess cringe? Tell my wife and kids I loved them.'   

Another wrote: 'Vaginas all across Australia and New Zealand simultaneously dried when Patrick came cartwheeling out from behind the bass drummer'. 

Someone else added: 'Belinda: Those types of feelings you get in your tummy? Does she mean gas? 

'Because I feel a little that way when I suffer through the Patrick/Belinda awk-fest every time.'

One amused person watching at home Tweeted: 'Absolutely what in the $10 budget is this?' 

Another Tweeted: 'Seriously, this bloke is a personal trainer. My 11 month old daughter has more co-ordination.'  

However, some viewers were charmed by the date, with one writing: 'Good choice Patrick! Love the marching brass band and cheerleaders. Music and dance is always a winner. Think you've just won Belinda's heart.'
