He was widely regard as the 'villain' on Married At First Sight's most recent season, with viewers labeling him both 'arrogant' and 'controlling'.

And now, Anthony Manton has offered some harsh advice to the man who may take up the same status on the next season of the show.

Previews for the upcoming season of the top-rating reality series feature a groom named Dean, who has been slammed on social media for wanting a wife who will 'obey him'.

'Find a rock and crawl under it buddy,' Anthony bluntly wrote to Dean in a post shared to his Instagram story on Friday.

He added: 'You're probably not a bad bloke... but... You're gonna slammed.' 

Anthony is speaking from first-hand experience after he earned the ire of the nation during his marriage to flight attendant Nadia Stamp, which was televised earlier in the year.

 After he dubbed Nadia as 'frigid' and revealed that they had had 'problems with intimacy, Anthony was berated on Twitter, with one user writing: 'Nadia "frigid"? Rest assured we've all been called that by Mr Unf******** Teeny Weeny.' 

Dean has been the subject of similarly harsh social media reaction after he revealed he was searching for love with a woman who would 'obey' him and declared: 'I'm the man and I'm in charge.' 

'Obeyed?!! Oh hell no.... this is 2017, not 1952!! No wonder he's still single!' one outraged fan tweeted.

Echoing the sentiment, another viewer said the inclusion of the 'sexist' suitor had turned him off watching the show.

'[Married at First Sight] has gone from being a guilty pleasure for some to the usual absolute crap commercial TV dishes up,' the social media user wrote.

'Well done for losing viewers before the season even opens.'

'How appalling,' another chimed in. 'There is no acceptable business reason for giving a man such a this a platform. Shame on you channel 9.'

Another viewer didn't hold back, writing: 'You won’t recover from this. Who are the people who thought this promo was a good idea? Or this person? Fools.'

Summing up their view on Dean, another Twitter user opined: 'This is beyond trash tv.' 

In the video teaser, Dean told producers it was hard to describe his ideal woman without resorting to 'sexist' terms.

'It's hard to say without sounding sexist or something, but I like a girl that is a girl and is girly and knows that I'm the man and that I'm in charge,' he insisted.
