It's been a dramatic race to follow so thanks for joining me throughout it.
We'll have plenty of reaction to it all throughout the day so stay tuned across Mail Sport for all the news and analysis as Ferrari toast a rare victory as Max Verstappen rues a car on fire.
Catch you next time for Japan!
Way to sum things up, Max.
He'll be back winning races in no time... probably in Japan next time out!
Our race runner-up gives his thoughts:
It feels good mostly for the team of course. It's amazing to know we can do that.
Carlos had an incredible weekend to come back after his surgery. He's done an amazing race.
I struggled a bit more in the second stint with the first hard. I didn't manage the tyres well But then the last stint was more positive. First and second was the best we could do.
Here is how things shook out from front to back...
Our third-placed finisher has his say:
It was a very good day for us. I'm very happy and proud of the team because P3 and P4 is a lot of points in the championship. So that's the first thing.
We missed out on Charles, I think our pace was a little bit better. He undercut us in the first stint so maybe a little bit of hope for second place, I think our pace was strong enough today.
But Ferrari and Carlos did a very good job, so hats off to them, they've been fast all weekend. I felt good, I could manage the tyres very well today, it was a good step. Probably wasn't expecting to be on the podium so I'm very happy.
Speaking to Sky Sports F1:
It was a really good race. I felt really good out there.
Of course a bit stiff and especially physically it wasn't the easiest but I was lucky I was more or less on my own and I could manage my pace, my tyres, manage everything, and it wasn't the toughest race of all.
But very happy, very proud of the team, and happy to be in a one-two with Charles here. It shows that hard work pays off and life sometimes is crazy.
What happened at the beginning of the year, then the podium in Bahrain, then the appendix, the comeback, the win...it's a rollercoaster. But I loved it and I'm extremely happy.
And on that appendix surgery, Carlos quips: "I will recommend all the drivers to take it out this winter!"
It continues to amaze me just how popular Formula 1 truly is.
The power of Drive to Survive, among other factors, cannot be underestimated.
'Smooth operator' sings Carlos Sainz over the team radio.
He's going to milk this one - and so would I. It doesn't happen often that anyone other than Max Verstappen is No 1 these days.
And it's victory for the Spaniard. What a day for Ferrari.
Carlos Sainz was having appendix surgery and had not come into this weekend at 100 per cent.
At the start of this week, he was in bed recovering and now he's the winner of the Australian Grand Prix.
Bet you now he's not in any pain as he celebrates this one!
Lando Norris completes the podium by finishing in third, while Oscar Piastri gets a standing ovation finishing fourth.
WOW
George Russell is involved in a nasty crash as his car flips over. That's a nightmare for Mercedes.
He's OK but it's a double disappointment with Lewis Hamilton out earlier and now George Russell out on the final lap.
This race will finish under a virtual safety car so no more overtaking.
