Noctua's enthusiasm for performance in the PC cooling space remains solely focused on practicality. According to a recent interview with Club386, the company's Chief Product Officer, Jakob Dellinger, confirmed that features like RGB lighting and LCD screens are not something the company plans to incorporate. Noctua's Chief Product Officer, Jakob DellingerWe want to spend as little in the way of resources as possible on making things look pretty - that's just not where our focus lies. That's why it's very unlikely for a Noctua product to come out with a huge fancy screen or something like that... What we want to do is drive thermal efficiency, improve the quietness of operation, and ensure the best possible quality.
As users may recall, even a simple change in color can be very tedious work for Noctua. For example, the company produces its fans using injection molding, where plastic is melted and forced into a steel mold. However, when a new pigment is used, the entire calculation can be disrupted. Introducing any third-party pigment into this process could disrupt the structure of the fan tip clearance and potentially interfere with Noctua's Sterrox liquid-crystal polymer (LCP) material used in its fans. Therefore, the company's focus remains on perfecting these aspects rather than adding RGB lighting and LCD screens everywhere.
