Following a price hike in April this year that raised YouTube Premium individual subscription cost in the US from $13.99 to $15.99 per month, YouTube is now increasing Premium prices across multiple European countries and in Singapore. According to user reports on Reddit and the ResetEra forums, subscribers have started receiving e-mail notifications about the upcoming changes. For European users, this represents the first time subscription rates have gone up since 2024.

The price adjustments vary by country, with some regions seeing increases of up to 17 percent. As a few examples, in Portugal and Italy, the individual plan is climbing from €17.99 to €20.99 per month, while the family plan is moving from €25.99 to €29.99. In Finland, subscribers report an increase from €14.99 to €16.99 per month for individual plan while in Spain, its price is rising to €15.99. In Romania, monthly fees are going up by roughly 10 percent, from RON 29.00 to RON 32.00. The rates for Ukraine have been increased as well.

The price increases are not confined to Europe. In Singapore, the YouTube Premium monthly fee is rising by around 14 percent, according to a report by The Straits Times. The individual tier is going from SGD 13.98 to SGD 15.98 per month, while the family plan is climbing from SGD 27.98 to SGD 31.98.

Unlike typical subscription updates where higher rates apply automatically on the next billing date, YouTube is requiring affected users to manually accept the changes. The notification e-mails carry an "Action Needed" heading, warning subscribers that they must actively approve the new pricing by October 10. If a user takes no action by the deadline, their subscription will automatically cancel before the new prices take effect on October 12.
