The Switch 2 OLED could make sense for 2027, especially if Nintendo adds a second screen and 3DS backwards compatibility, because that would give 3DS users a strong reason to upgrade to the Switch 2.

No way in hell it happens in 2027. Maybe in the 2030s, but not 2027. If we're getting any Switch 2 revision in 2027, it's probably Switch 2 Lite.

9" OLED display, most likely. 'QD'-OLED if we're lucky.
Either way it's all irrelevant to me. I need a 55" or 65" 'Glossy'(Can't stand Anti-Glare filters since they have a negative impact on black levels, colors and clarity) QD-OLED with a great pair of can's & Amp. I'd love to invest in an amazing 5.1 or 5.2 surround system instead but I'm rocking an appartment and that's a straight up no go! Sennheiser HD555 & BeyerDynamic DT770 Pro X, paired with a Fozi ZH3 DAC it tis.
The only way I'd ever game in handheld mode with NS2, is if i wanted to dabble back into NSO GameBoy & GBA, or potentially NSO DS & 3DS if they ever come to fruition. High possibility. if NSO VB can happen, anything can happen.
And speaking of NSO GB in handheld mode, i wish Nintendo would of given us the option to use the original screen filter settting but without the gross motion/persistence blur ghosting effect for the original DMG/Pea soup green GB look, or black & white 'game boy pocket' setting. I'd much rather play GB games on an alaogue pocket or Chromatic(V2). At least with the chromatic, you bypass emulation and even display lag, and you can use either the green or black&white(And more) filters without the motion blur effect. Bigger investment, but if you want the best possible GB expeirence, than look no further. Analogue Pocket supposedly adds 1 frame/about 17ms of lag because of the display or something. Most won't care, but expect Chromatic to feel a bit more responsive in controls.

@Bolt_Strike I mean it makes since for it to release in 2031 because switch light was released 2 years after the v1 model and switch OLED was released after 2 years of the switch light

No.
Look how long the rumours were active for Switch Pro and it still took a couple years for Switch OLED to be released. Let alone Switch 2 which was stockpiled for years.
I think there would be more rumblings if it was planned for next year. Besides, Switch OLED had more perks, like additional storage, a dock with an Ethernet port, a better stand etc. I think Switch 2 OLED / Pro would benefit from some other adjustments.
Switch 2 will be around for a long while. Likely Nintendo’s longest supported gen if you consider all the different factors and market conditions. A premium SKU next year would just feel rushed (and VERY expensive) in the grand scheme.
Believe me, I would love an OLED screen but Nintendo can wait.

Can we ban stuff like this from being discussed here? It's always a random person asking about a 2 OLED and specifically mentions a second screen and 3DS backwards compatibility.

TLDR: No.
Even before tariffs and trade wars and AI bubbles drove component prices into the stratosphere, Nintendo was already struggling to keep the price of the Switch 2 reasonable. There was never a chance they'd reengineer the Switch 2 to use an expensive OLED screen until such time as they could bring the cost down generally. . . and all the above price spike factors mean that this may never happen within the lifetime of the console.
And no, they aren't going to add a separate OLED model rather than replacing the existing screen. Engineering a new SKU also costs money, and if they were going to do so there are many things they'd do long before swapping the screen. For every customer where an OLED screen is a meaningful selling point, there are far more people who'd want either a smaller device or bigger battery life.
