Starting with August 19, 2026, applicants admitted in principle to financing following the administrative and eligibility checks related to the Program for strengthening SMEs through improved access to SME Eco-Tech financing receive acceptance notifications. Notifications are sent through the electronic application for registration and management of the support measure financed from Swiss-Romanian funds.

According to the procedural provisions of the aid scheme, within a maximum of 5 working days from the receipt of the notification of acceptance in principle to the financing, applicants have the obligation to go to the credit institution for which they have opted, in order to obtain the loan.

In order to ensure compliance with this deadline and to reduce the risk of rejection for this reason, all applicants who have received letters of acceptance in principle for funding through the information system will be contacted individually by MEDAT’s technical staff, in order to be notified about this novelty and the next steps.

We remind you that, on this date, the available budget allocated to the program continues to allow the registration and financing of new applicants, and the electronic submission stage of the registration forms is still open on the https://sme-ecotech.gov.ro platform. In this context, all companies interested in obtaining an investment grant in the maximum amount of 267,240 lei, approximately 50,800 euros, can register until September 24, 2026 for the support measure.

The conditions of application, as well as the flexibility decisions adopted by MEDAT, offer all categories of enterprises, from all types of activities eligible for de minimis aid, the chance to participate in the program and benefit from non-reimbursable financial aid.

The support measure is financed by the second non-reimbursable Swiss financial contribution granted to Romania through the Swiss-Romanian Cooperation Programme, aimed at reducing economic and social disparities within the European Union.

Background information:

SME Eco-Tech is implemented by MEDAT within the Swiss-Romanian Cooperation Programme. The objectives of the programme are to reduce the impact on the environment, increase the competitiveness and productivity of enterprises, stimulate domestic production and support employment.

The total budget of the program for the period 2025–2027 is CHF 54,041,886, equivalent to 288,843,072 lei. This de minimis aid scheme is estimated to finance at least 800 SMEs in all eight development regions of Romania.

Funding will be awarded in the order of submission of applications, according to the “first come, first served” principle. Applications for funding are submitted on the https://sme-ecotech.gov.ro platform.
