The Foo Fighters were last on tour in 2023-2024 on the band’s Everything of Nothing At All world tour. It was the group’s first massive concert run since drummer Taylor Hawkins died in March 2022 in Bogotá, Colombia.

That tour featured temporary replacement drummer Josh Freese, who vacated the seat for current drummer Ilhan Rubin, who had previously played in Nine Inch Nails.

To announce the 2026 Take Cover Tour, the band released a new single titled Asking for a Friend. The follow up to the hit Today’s Song prepares fans for hearing material from this year’s Your Favourite Toy. The setlists for the tour have featured many new tunes getting their live debut on various dates.

The band’s 12th album dropped in April and has been praised for being one of the band’s loudest and rocking efforts in some time. Songs such as Of All People has been praised for sounding somewhat like legendary Minneapolis trio Hüsker Dü.
