Lexus introduced the LBX Morizo RR in 2024 and it appears the company is working on an even more extreme variant.

Spied undergoing testing in Europe, the prototype sports a camouflaged front end that appears to carryover from the current model. The crossover also wears black and white disguise on the side skirts and roof.

The latter is notable as it implies the prototype could be equipped with a lightweight carbon fiber roof. These have been a fixture on higher-end versions of the Toyota GR Corolla and it appears the two models will have even more in common in the future.

The rear end doesn’t look too remarkable at first glance, but the prototype has been outfitted with a carbon fiber bumper as a small section is exposed by the license plate. Speaking of the bumper, the one on this prototype features functional lower vents between the dual exhaust system.

We can also see a new spoiler and it may be constructed out of carbon fiber as well. Of course, that probably shouldn’t be too surprising if the roof is going to be made out of the same material.

Little else is known about the crossover at this point, but the original was developed with the assistance of Akio Toyoda, who goes by the name Morizo when racing. It features a turbocharged 1.6-liter three-cylinder engine developing 300 hp (224 kW / 304 PS) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque.

It can be paired to either an eight-speed automatic or a six-speed manual. Both are connected to a full-time all-wheel drive system and this enables the crossover to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in as little as 5.2 seconds.
