The company said it expects to expand its team in Galway ‘progressively over the coming months’.
Slovenia-headquartered software engineering company Comtrade 360 has announced a new delivery centre in Galway today (2 October) after hiring nearly 20 workers in the area over the course of the year.
The company said it expects to expand its team in Galway “progressively over the coming months”, with plans to grow its workforce in the city to around 50 highly-skilled employees.
Comtrade 360 – a part of the Comtrade Group – helps organisations design, build and manage software products and technology platforms, offering its clientele services across engineering, AI, DevOps, cloud and systems integration.
The company has more than 150 engineers spread across the US and Europe, who support a clientele that includes CERN, World Remit and Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
It’s new Galway team provides software engineering, quality engineering, DevOps and project delivery expertise and is already supporting an established customer engagement in the global technology sector, Comtrade said. It also has a business development office based in Dublin.
“Comtrade 360’s decision to establish a new delivery centre in Galway reflects the confidence international technology companies continue to place in Ireland’s skilled workforce, supportive business environment and strong culture of innovation,” said Minister of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment Peter Burke, TD.
“The capabilities being developed in Galway spanning software engineering, project delivery and artificial intelligence will further strengthen our technology ecosystem and contribute to Ireland’s continued competitiveness in a rapidly evolving global sector.”
Yvonne Brewer, Comtrade 360’s business development director for Ireland and the UK said: “Galway is a natural choice for this investment.
“Our Galway team connects that local expertise with Comtrade 360’s international engineering capabilities. The focus is on helping customers modernise critical systems, accelerate software delivery and translate the potential of AI into secure, practical and measurable outcomes.
“This centre gives us a strong platform from which to deepen our relationships with customers in Ireland and support international markets.”
