Bundledocs is used by clients from across 35 countries, including more than 100 of the UK’s top 200 law firms.

London-headquartered legal-tech provider Opus 2 is acquiring Bundledocs, a collaborative document management platform based out of Cork. The details of the acquisition were not disclosed.

With the purchase, Opus 2 hopes to streamline and automate manual processes within legal teams. The company’s AI framework, according to its website, assists in building legal strategies and collaborative workspaces. Its clientele, spread across 64 countries, includes major legal firms such as Dentons, Goodwin and Baker Botts.

This is the 2008-founded company’s third acquisition in the last five years, as it expands its market presence in Europe and beyond. Late last year, it acquired legal AI company Uncover and opened a new office location in Amsterdam. The latest acquisition will help Opus 2 accelerate its business strategy and product roadmap, it said.

“We’re excited to welcome the Bundledocs team to Opus 2,” said Greg Blackman, the CEO of Opus 2.

“Our growth story is one of innovation, but it’s always through the lens of doing what’s best for law firms. That’s exactly the reason for this acquisition – by working together, we’ll ensure our clients have every possible advantage and efficiency.”

Bundledocs, founded in 2019, is behind a cloud-based management software that helps legal teams prepare and review complex document workflows in a connected environment. The company’s platform is used by 1,900 clients across 35 countries, including more than 100 of the UK’s top 200 law firms.

As of 2024, Bundledocs had 20 employees working from offices in Ireland, the UK, Australia and Canada. The company raised €600,000 in 2020 from Enterprise Ireland and other private investors.

“Joining Opus 2 is a natural next step for Bundledocs. We share a deep understanding of the legal sector and a focus on building practical, secure software that makes complex legal workflows simpler,” said Brian Kenneally, the co-founder and CEO of Bundledocs.

“Bundledocs has grown significantly as both a business and technology offering, and this next chapter gives us an opportunity to build on that progress while continuing to innovate for our customers.”
