Few weeks ago my dock and eGPU didn't worked, maybe there was a problem with the dock's adapter, its not very important. we tried yesterday, the dock actually started working and there was no authorization. the eGPU doesnt work at all still, it does the usual loop, it shows three green lights for a while then turns off then comes back up again.
we tried on live usb fedora, ubuntu and boltctl but it does not return anything. we also tried on fedora SSD of a different computer. we were actually able to see the eGPUs chipset name on a notification but later we realized that its just scsi disc mode. we used dmesg -w and that doesnt show the dock at all and the eGPU shows as a disc in the same way it did before. and i believe that means pcie tunneling does not work at all on fedora in this pc.
Right after that we tried eGPU on the windows 11. Only for the first time we got notification "functionality of the usb4 device may be limited". and this notif never popped up again for some reason.
things to add:
switchable graphics/uma graphics we tried turning off secure boot on fedora.
there are no other settings that would affect thunderbolt on bios aside from just turning thunderbolt off.
we tried older drivers on windows, we tried the thunderbolt control center app in windows store but it doesnt seem to do anything just shows the dock when it connects.
we updated the firmware of the eGPU with its provided tool.
both dock and eGPU were tested with a lenovo legion go, they work perfectly fine on both operating systems and there are no quirks to talk about
we tried with diferent cables one says thunderbolt 4 on the cable and the other one says 3.

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.
