Saber Interactive has released a new gameplay trailer for Turok: Origins, giving players a fresh look at the revived dinosaur-hunting shooter ahead of its launch later this year.

Turok: Origins is coming to PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 in Fall 2026, with Saber promising a fast-paced sci-fi shooter that blends solo play with online co-op action. The new trailer shows the series moving firmly into modern action territory, with players taking on dinosaurs, alien enemies, and large boss encounters across the Lost Lands.

Players step into the role of the Order of the Turok, a group of mystical warriors locked in a fight to save humanity from extinction. This time, the threat is not just teeth, claws, and prehistoric rage, but a wider alien force aiming to wipe out human life across the galaxy.

The game will feature both first-person and third-person action, with players able to fight through the campaign alone or alongside friends in online co-op. Saber says the adventure will take players through ancient ruins, dense jungles, alien landscapes, and other areas hiding secrets tied to the Lost Lands.

Combat is built around a mix of futuristic weapons and special abilities. Players will be able to unlock and upgrade an arsenal that includes plasma rifles, sniper weapons, bows, shotguns, and experimental alien tech. There are also Turok Powers, unlocked by collecting Echoes, which allow players to customise their combat style and gain new advantages in battle.

Saber is also promising plenty of enemy variety, from dinosaurs and alien troops to large-scale boss fights designed to test skill, teamwork, and strategy. That co-op angle appears to be a major part of the new Turok’s identity, moving the franchise away from its purely old-school shooter roots and toward something built for modern online play.

The original Turok: Dinosaur Hunter launched in 1997 and became one of the Nintendo 64’s defining early shooters. It went on to spawn multiple sequels, including Turok 2: Seeds of Evil and Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion, both of which have since been remastered by Nightdive Studios.

Turok: Origins is not a simple remake of those games, though. Saber is positioning it as a new beginning for the franchise, with a fresh story, redesigned gameplay, and a much heavier sci-fi focus. Still, the core appeal remains pretty obvious: dinosaurs, big weapons, and a lot of chaos.

Turok: Origins is available to wishlist now on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The game is due to launch in Fall 2026 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
