Steelers star Broderick Jones has told Aaron Rodgers that he might tackle him again after the veteran quarterback reacted furiously to being flatted by his 311lb teammate in a botched touchdown celebration.

In the fourth quarter of last week's loss to the Bengals, Jones went viral moments after 41-year-old Rodgers rolled back the years with a touchdown pass to Pat Freiermuth.

The score gave Pittsburgh a 31-30 lead with just 2:21 remaining in the thrilling game, prompting Rodgers to pull out his trademark arm-pump celebration.

But Rodgers' joy soon turned to anger after Jones, a 6ft 5ins offensive tackle, jumped on the veteran's back and sent him crashing to the turf in Cincinnati.

The 41-year-old did not see the funny side. The quarterback jumped up to his feet and tried to shove Jones, before being pulled away by coaches.

Jones went back for more on the sideline - grabbing Rodgers, smacking him on the helmet and going face-to-face with his quarterback.

Jones has now addressed the viral incident. He said with a smirk: 'We shall see on Sunday, after he throws another touchdown, I might tackle him again.'

The 24-year-old was asked whether Rodgers has given him any more stick over the tackle.

He laughed and said: 'Yeah we're still joking about it. He was a little mad. But it's alright, it's football, it gets intense.

'But there is no love lost - it's just the energy that he brings and that I bring. He told me don't lose the fire and I told him the same.'

Just days before the incident, Rodgers had paid tribute to Jones' 'energy', speaking about him to reporters after practice.

'I got a lot of confidence in him,' he said of Jones. 'I really enjoy his energy. Sometimes I try to kick him in the a** a little bit in practice to get him going, but I like his positivity. He's always the first one to come celebrate with me on the field, I appreciate that.'
