Both Class B South football semifinals were decided in the final minute. While Westbrook was rallying to beat Marshwood, 15-12, the other game pitted 2023 state champion Kennebunk against 2024 winner Falmouth. Kennebunk led at home early, 14-0, then Navigators tied it, but Kennebunk regained a 21-14 lead with 5:52 to play. Falmouth drove for a touchdown with 29.7 seconds to play, only to miss the extra point, giving the Rams a 21-20 victory.

Top-seeded Spruce Mountain entered the Class B South final with 18 straight wins — 13 in a row by double digits. They led most of the game, but Grady Hreben’s late 3-point barrage got Maranacook back in it, then Ethan Chilton — a defensive player who rarely scores — hit a runner off the glass at the buzzer to send the Black Bears to the state final with a 49-47 victory.
