Melissa Garner Lee discovered that she had scored a coveted invite to the event... but that her husband, music producer Garret 'Jacknife' Lee, had deleted it because he thought it was a scam.
Branded by some as the wedding of the century, it seems almost everyone was clamoring for an invite to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's nuptials.
But for one woman, she was faced with her biggest nightmare when she discovered that she had scored a coveted invite to the event... but that her husband had deleted it because he thought it was a scam.
Huffington Post writer Melissa Garner Lee explained in a new essay for the publication that when she saw everyone talking about the nuptials, she felt frustrated that her husband, music producer Garret 'Jacknife' Lee, hadn't been included.
Garret previously produced Swift's song The Last Time from her 2012 album Red.
'Wait, why weren't we invited? There are a thousand people there,' Melissa recalled asking her husband.
He then revealed: 'I got a text but I thought it was spam.'
Melissa recalled being in 'total disbelief' by his revelation, adding: 'I could feel my heart pulsing in my fingertips as I continued to scroll through the barrage of wedding-related posts popping up online.'
She said Garret explained that he had received a 'text from her manager' but 'didn't respond to it' because it 'didn't sound like him.'

Garret added that he 'thought someone was trying to hack' him so he deleted it, and the news left her 'reeling in frustration.'
'We've been married for 32 years and have lived in the same house all of that time, but apparently we occupy two different worlds,' she joked of his flub.
'As a psychotherapist with over a decade of experience in marriage and family therapy, I've seen my fair share of women who say their husbands don't understand them. At that moment, I could relate on an entirely new level.'
In addition to her anger at her husband, Melissa said she was also worried about how it would look to Swift and Kelce that they didn't even respond to the invite.
'We didn't even RSVP "no." How rude is that?' she wondered, adding: 'Sorry Taylor and Travis!'
Her husband ultimately apologized and 'brought home her favorite dinner' to try to make it up to her.
'After I cooled down, I thought about how our lives are currently filled with much bigger things to worry about than Taylor Swift's wedding,' she said.
'Every day some new terrible thing is happening somewhere. So despite my disappointment and frustration, I forgave him.'

'My husband said she was the driving force in the room. Afterward, she had dinner with our family,' Melissa revealed.
'She was a warm and confident young woman - and a true storyteller. She charmed all of us with her wit and grace.'
Swift and Kelce, both 36, tied the knot in front of 1,000 guests – including some of the world's biggest stars – in a colossal blowout at the historic Madison Square Garden arena in New York City on Friday.
Some of the A-list attendees include Selena Gomez, Sabrina Carpenter, Hugh Grant, Lena Dunham, Steven Spielberg, Karlie Kloss, Bradley Cooper and Gigi Hadid.
At exactly 7.30pm, the couple shared the news that they had officially become husband and wife in blockbuster style, lighting up the iconic music venue with video ads which read 'JUST&T MARRIED,' a romantic nod to their shared initials.
Breathtaking footage obtained exclusively by the Daily Mail showed how Madison Square Garden was transformed into an enchanted garden of towering trees and soaring archways for the event.

Emerald green drapery hung from the ceiling to complete the ambience, while the stadium's usual blue seats were chicly hidden behind nude-colored coverings.
A towering ceiling-height structure, with gray embellishments and archways, dominated the space, resembling a chapel or the 'castle' that sparked frenzied speculation prior to the event.
The exclusive video also showed a romantically lit hallway with pink walls, peach drapery and matching carpet. The entrance featured a sentimental touch, as several photos of Swift and Kelce throughout their relationship were featured on the walls.
All of the sweet photographs, including the couple's August 2025 backyard proposal, were inside large gold frames. A large 'T and T' logo, which seems to have featured in other parts of the nuptials, was displayed in the center.
