Just a few days ago, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce tied the knot in a lavish, star-studded wedding. But while plenty of A-listers made the guest list, one of Swift’s close friends has come clean about why he didn’t attend.

While co-hosting his radio broadcast, TV personality Ryan Seacrest opened up about not making it to Madison Square Garden for the nuptials.

“I RSVP’d to go, and then Disney hired me to do the 4th of July 250 special on the 3rd and the 4th, so I had to cancel,” Seacrest explained, per Us Weekly.

Seacrest then shared that the decision was much harder than it might’ve seemed. “I was actually really excited,” he said, “I was kind of torn.”

“Trust me, I went through the minutes,” he admitted. “I couldn’t have done both, and the actual wedding was in the afternoon. But I was so honored and thrilled to be invited.”

Seacrest then remembered running into Swift and Kelce, and getting excited for the party.

“You know, the irony was, after I RSVP’d to the wedding, I saw them at dinner at a restaurant and we talked about the event — ‘cause we didn’t say [wedding] out loud — and she was like, ‘Oh, it’s going to be so much fun. We’re gonna have the best time. It’s gonna go late,'” he recalled. “I’m like, ‘I cannot wait. I’m so excited.’ I met Travis for the first time, actually. He was sitting in the booth next to me.”

“I RSVP’d yes. I saw them a couple of weeks later to confirm. Then I had to cancel,” Seacrest added. “But I had no choice. It’s part of my job at Disney to do these things.”

While Seacrest couldn’t make the event, Swift and Kelce’s big day on July 3 was attended by many of their close friends and family.

Among the guests were Selena Gomez and her husband, Benny Blanco, Lena Dunham, Gigi Hadid and boyfriend Bradley Cooper, Ed Sheeran, Karlie Kloss, Ellie Goulding, Kelsea Ballerini, the Haim sisters, Suki Waterhouse and her boyfriend Robert Pattinson, and many more. The wedding was officiated by none other than comedian Adam Sandler. Talk about a wedding you wouldn’t want to miss!
