The response comes amid growing rumours that Oasis could be set to announce their next tour for summer 2027

Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher has responded after our reports that the legendary Manchester band look set to play 12 nights at the Etihad in 2027.

The Manchester Evening News understands that Oasis are planning a spectacular 12-night residency at the ground of Liam and Noel Gallagher's beloved Manchester City in the summer as part of a huge new tour set to be announced within weeks.

Tomorrow marks exactly one years since the huge Oasis Live '25 comeback tour, which kicked off with a memorable opening night in Cardiff. One of the biggest comebacks in music history the reunion tour spanned 41 shows in 13 countries across five months.

According to a number of sources who have spoken to the MEN, it is understood that the Etihad Stadium is gearing up to stage an epic 2027 homecoming return for Oasis, and there are other rumours flying around that there may also be a return to Knebworth, while bookies are already saying it's odds on for the band to play Glastonbury next year.

Never one to be shy about potential Oasis tour rumours, frontman Liam Gallagher has been interacting with fans today over on X. Though the topic initially started off focused on England's last 16 fixture against Mexico on Sunday night.

Liam tweeted: "Everytime I've been to Mexico everyone's been lovely I don't get all this bad attitude nonsense it'll be fine."

A fan, picking up on the rumours that there could be a 12-night residency at The Etihad next summer put to the question to Liam directly, to which the Oasis star responded: "12 I thought it was 10 ffs".

Asked about whether he was excited about the official Oasis documentary trailer also being released tomorrow, he added: "I've seen it I'm arsed now it's all about Mexico v England."

Earlier today, before rumours swirled and the teaser was dropped for the documentary, Liam also took on a fan who said they wouldn't go to an Oasis concert next year because of Liam's England football allegiances.

In typical Liam Gallagher style, he responded to the disgruntled fan: "You saying that now but soon as we announce the gig nxt wk I mean nxt year I mean happy Christmas you'll be running around like headless chickens trying to get a ticket so stop acting tuff gong."

Manchester City's Etihad Stadium had already been deemed by many online as the next venue that Oasis could play. This summer has seen the return of live music to the venue after a three-year absence while works to expand the North Stand were completed.

It proved to be an epic setting for two major artists this summer, with The Weeknd and then Take That playing to tens of thousands of fans this June and July. Now, bosses are thought to be gearing up for an even bigger 2027 with the return of Oasis to play on the hallowed turf of the Blues.

Making way for a potential Oasis residency, Man City's fixture list for 26/27 sees their last home game at the Etihad Stadium falling on Saturday May 23 against Aston Villa, while the last day of the Premier League season is on Sunday May 30, when City are away to Sunderland.

The MEN has also been told by a separate source that a luxury city centre hotel has been entirely booked out from the end of May through June for the arrival of the band and their touring entourage. It appears to back up the suggestion of dates being booked across May and June for the tour.

And last week, Manchester's Parklife festival announced a major change to its dates for 2027. It is traditionally held across a weekend in June but next year they will stage it in July for the first time, on the dates of July 10 and 11.

Amidst all the 2027 tour rumours, this lunchtime, Oasis have released a teaser ahead of the one year anniversary of last year's tour. To celebrate the occasion the band have told fans 'the countdown is on' ahead of an official first-look trailer being released tomorrow regarding the Oasis documentary released later this year.

In a collaborated post with Disney Studios, the caption reads: "Tomorrow, celebrate one year since the return of Oasis with your first look at the new landmark documentary. The countdown is on."

The 'Official Documentary Teaser' will go live tomorrow at 4pm BST, 8am PDT and 11am EDT. Although a very short teaser clip, it is soundtracked by drums and shows a few moving images of Liam, Noel and the band on stage, as well as fans in the crowd with their arms up in the air.

Also shared on their Instagram stories, there is a link for fans to click, which takes you to a YouTube page. Entitled the 'Oasis Documentary Teaser Trailer' it shows how many hours until the trailer drops so fans can tune in for that first glimpse.
