Five Wits Brewing Company is bringing the pizza oven back and opening its front doors on Main Street with the launch of a new concept, Five Wits Pizza Joint, serving thin, crisp, well-done bar pizza inspired by old-school tavern styles.
The idea grew out of a simple reality: while the Barrelhouse Ballroom hosts some of Chattanooga’s most memorable nights, the space has often felt quiet during the day. With an underutilized room, an existing pizza oven, and a long-standing love of great pizza, the solution felt obvious—bring pizza, beer, and music together under one roof, and open it fully to the neighborhood, said officials.
The pizza at Five Wits Pizza Joint is intentionally straightforward. Thin, crispy and cooked well done, it follows a less-is-more approach built on great ingredients and solid technique rather than trends. There are no gimmicks here—no sourdough claims, no wood-fired labels, no fermentation timelines meant for marketing. Just clean, balanced, crave-able pizza with toppings running edge to edge and no crusted rim.
That style pairs naturally with beer. Light, crisp pizza complements lagers, pale ales and easy-drinking brews without overpowering them, making it equally suited for a quick lunch, an afternoon patio hang, or a pre-show bite before the music starts.
Five Wits Pizza Joint is located at the front entrance of the building, reopening doors on Main Street that have remained closed since the launch of Barrelhouse Ballroom, when all entry was routed through the back of the building. Guests are now invited directly in from the street for pizza and cold beer—no concert ticket required. The space also connects seamlessly to the Long Street patio, activating the area on non-show days and creating a daytime and early-evening neighborhood destination.
Pizza will be available for lunch and dinner seven days a week, with dedicated seating for non-concertgoers. Ticket holders can enjoy early access and pre-show hangs featuring bar pies and beers. The team is currently hiring a few hospitality-driven individuals with a passion for pizza, beer and music to help bring the concept to life.
Five Wits Pizza Joint is targeting an early April grand opening, bringing together its three core pillars—pizza, beer and music. "Whether you’re stopping in for a quick lunch, settling into the patio for an afternoon beer, or kicking off a night at Barrelhouse Ballroom, Five Wits Pizza Joint is built to be part of your routine. No tickets, no trends—just honest pizza, well-made beer, and a space that feels alive from day to night," said Five Wits Pizzaofficials.
