A man accused of repeatedly ramming an ambulance with a vehicle in an east Las Vegas shopping complex Friday is now charged with nine felonies.

Bryan Martin Lopez, 30, was being held at the Clark County Detention Center on six counts of assault and three counts of battery, all with use of a deadly weapon.

Las Vegas Justice Court records show Martin has been the subject of nine prior criminal cases in Las Vegas Justice Court since 2013, including four arrests on suspicion of driving under the influence. One of those DUI cases, from last month, was dismissed by prosecutors. Records show Lopez was convicted of DUI second offense in District Court in 2025 after completing a lengthy court program.

In the latest case, Lopez was charged after Metropolitan police said a man carried out a rampage at a shopping complex in the 4900 block of East Sahara Avenue at Nellis Boulevard just before noon Friday.

“The suspect exited a vehicle and attempted to stab an individual in a business parking lot,” police said in an email. “The individual was able to safely get away from the suspect.”

Police did not identify the business where the attempted stabbing took place, but crime scene tape stretched around a portion of the parking lot in front of a Smith’s grocery store.

The assailant then got back into the vehicle and drove to another area of the complex parking lot where they “rammed a parked ambulance, multiple times,” police said.

An ambulance in the same parking lot in front of a Bank of America outlet was observed with front-end damage.

“Officers arrived and were able to take the individual into custody with the use of an electronic control device,” police said.

No one was reported injured.

Lopez is being held on a $30,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
