Noah Kahan sure is bringing out the New England star power for his shows this week at Fenway Park. And it makes sense, given that he’s a Vermont native.
During Tuesday night’s show — the first of four shows at Fenway this week — Kahan featured New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye on the big screen
“Hello? Drake? I thought you got canceled or Kendrick beat you or something, right? Why are you calling me? Well, I appreciate you coming to the show, I guess,” Kahan said, as he picked up a ringing phone.
“Wrong Drake, brother. This is Drake Maye,” Maye replied as an image of the star QB popped up on the stage screen. “I just wanted to welcome you to Boston, say what’s up. I know Fenway is rocking right now. I’m here in the crowd. You’re the man. Go Pats.”
One night later, during Wednesday night’s show, Big Papi himself, former Boston Red Sox great David Ortiz, made a virtual appearance on the stage screen as well. And he even got in a quick shot at the hated New York Yankees.
“Hey Noah, what’s going on? This is Big Papi,” Ortiz said. “There’s one thing more special than being at Fenway Park. Daaaaaa Yankees lose. Go Sox!”
Kahan is taking Thursday night off, but has two more sold out shows at Fenway on Friday and Saturday. Could we see more Boston cameos? And who might they be? Jayson Tatum? Zdeno Chara? Ben Affleck? Mark Wahlberg? We’ll have to wait and see.
