Love Island star Charleen Murphy has also opened up on 'frosty' welcome from the main villa
Former Love Island star Charleen Murphy had admitted that she picked the 'wrong brother' following her shock dumping from the show.
ITV's dating reality series introduced the Dublin-based social media influencer during the Casa Amor part of the latest season. Described as 'one of the most anticipated bombshell arrivals', she quickly turned heads of one of the Islanders.
Viewers witnessed as she got closer with Kavan Murphy, who was already paired up with Jasmine Muller. However, their connection was so strong that the 21-year-old chose to bring the Irish influencer back to the main villa.
However, fans were shocked to see that Kavan quickly changed his mind, cutting things off with Charleen and recoupling back with Jasmine at the first opportunity. This left Charleen single and forced to leave the villa.
Charleen has now had her say after being quizzed on her experience. She appeared on the latest episode of Love Island Aftersun alongside her fellow dumped bombshell Mara.
Host Maya Jama asked how she was feeling a couple of days removed from her dumping. Charleen admitted her exit was 'bittersweet' and acknowledged her time in the villa ended on a 'bad note'.
However, she clearly has no regrets about going on the show, even though she says it was clear her time was up as she went from being really happy in Casa, to being so upset in the main villa.
She explained: "Casa, we came in together, it was such a good time. Then coming into the main villa, which is so big with a group of people who don't really want you there, so it's going to be frosty. We knew coming into Casa that could happen but I think when you're living it, it's hard."
Maya also asked if there was any signs from Kavan that he would change his mind about recoupling. Charleen revealed: "The second we walked back from Casa, he like, dropped my hand at the recoupling and I just knew. And that's what lead to me being really upset as well - the instant energy shift.
"I take people for what they say. That's just who I am. So when he switched, I just felt stupid, embarrassed, upset. So many emotions, that's why I cried. The overwhelm of coming into a place where people don't really want you there but yeah it was just a bit s***."
She had another huge confession when Maya asked if she wishes she got to know anyone else while on the show. Charleen declared: "Yeah, I think I picked the wrong brother. Honestly, I watched it back, he spoke so highly of me, said so many nice things behind my back. If I had of known. . . like one of those movies like right in front of you the whole time."
Last year's winner Toni Laites was also on the show as a guest panellist and asked Charleen about already knowing Sean Fitzgerald before the show, and if he was an option.
Charleen replied: "He was on my list. But I got a vibe straight away he wasn't open. If he had been slightly flirty maybe."
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
