Publisher Kwalee and developer Flash Cat Games have announced that the deck-building roguelike adventure Talespinner is coming to Nintendo Switch on August 6.

In the game, players will enter a captivating world inspired by the exotic and bizarre tapestry of Japanese mythology. Taking on the role of the Storyteller, they’ll guide their chosen hero through an ever-changing adventure shaped by their decisions and the deck they build.

Pick Your Hero

Every story needs a hero. Select from 3 unique characters, each with distinct gameplay mechanics and a powerful set of cards that can be upgraded as you play. Forge powerful card synergies to dominate the narrative.

Choose Your Scenario

Decide what adventure your hero will embark on. Are they being pursued by a ninja clan led by the famous Hanzo Hattori? Or perhaps they venture into the mountains to track down the Ice Lady, Yuki Onna, who haunts the local population there?

Every scenario offers additional story twists, adding layers of challenge and replayability.

Shape Your Path

Use your storybook to dictate the hero’s encounters. Modify challenges to your liking – make them easier to progress or increase the stakes for greater rewards.

Encounter Bizarre Yokai

Immerse yourself in the world of creatures from Japanese mythology. Each yokai comes with its own diverse set of skills making every encounter a unique challenge. How to deal with them is up to you. Crush them in decisive combat or make them your allies through charm and cunning.

And Face Their Wicked Powers

Confront various hostile forces in battle, which can affect the actions of your hero’s cards, enhancing immersion and further increasing the strategic aspect of combat with each opponent.

Traveling Through Exciting Locations

Take an epic journey through various biomes like bamboo forests, mysterious caves, windy plains, haunted villages, temples and many more. Each biome offers diverse events and as well as a unique set of enemies.
