Jon Bernthal and Tessa Thompson led the way for TV on Netflix in the first half of the year.

The pair’s crime thriller His & Hers reached 104M views globally from its premiere date on January 8 through the end of June, making it the most-watched show in H1 2026, according to the streamer’s biannual What We Watched report released on Thursday.

Besides Season 4 of Bridgerton, nothing else on the service even came close to racking up that large of an audience. The latest installment of Shondaland romance series amassed 100M views from launch on January 29 through the end of June, putting it in second place for TV in the first half of the year.

Another newcomer, Harlan Coben’s I Will Find You, took third place with 64M views, which is quite impressive considering the series just recently arrived on June 18. As Deadline reported earlier this week, that series is on track to become one of Netflix’s most popular titles of all time if it keeps up this performance. When factoring in July viewing, I Will Find You is already at over 85M views in under 30 days, making it a strong contender for the Top 10 Most Popular English Series list which once featured another Harlan Coben adaptation, Fool Me Once.

Netflix’s new K-drama Teach You A Lesson, which landed on June 5, has also proven its popularity with an outsize performance over the last month. Run Away and Man On Fire also made the Top 10 list with more than 40M views each.

In all, five of the Top 10 most-watched series in the first half of this year also premiered within that timeframe. That’s much different that the second half of last year, when seven of the Top 10 TV rankings were heavy hitting returning series.

Per the latest report, audiences watched 97B hours of content on Netflix in the first half of the year, marking the highest half-yearly viewing total since the streamer began regularly releasing these numbers. That’s a net positive for Netflix, even though it has struggled recently with retaining audiences for returning series.

Even One Piece and The Night Agent, whose recent seasons both made the Top 10 for the first half of the year, were down in their opening weeks compared to previous installments. Even further illustrating Netflix’s inability to replicate the audience loyalty enjoyed by of some of its earlier hits, Stranger Things 5 is among the Top 5 most-watched series in the first half of the year with 56M views, more than almost any other series on the platform, even though the series finale dropped on New Year’s Eve.

Since January, Netflix has released new seasons of Running Point, Beef, A Man On the Inside, Nobody Wants This, The Four Seasons and A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, to name a few more that have slumped in comparison to previous seasons.

In other Netflix data news, the streamer also revealed on Thursday that it plans to move away from six-month reports — which it began releasing in 2023 — in favor of annual viewing snapshots, beginning Q1 2027. The company says this is part of its shift in focus to quality over quantity.
