In November 2020, I was elected to serve as a Soddy Daisy city commissioner and was reelected in 2024. In 2022, my fellow commissioners entrusted me with the role of vice mayor, and in 2024, they selected me to serve as mayor, a position I currently hold.
A few months ago, I had the honor of meeting Tony Hullender as he was preparing to officially launch his campaign for state representative. While sharing information about the city with Mr. Hullender and discussing the issues affecting our community, I quickly learned that he is a listener and a problem solver.
He is not looking to push his own agenda but to truly represent District 27.
Having served as a volunteer firefighter for over 50 years and as Soddy Daisy Fire Chief for 10 years, I have full confidence in his ability to support and secure funding for essential services such as firefighting across the district.
Mr. Hullender views the work of a state representative as a partnership with the people of District 27, focusing on the issues we face and the problems we need to solve as a district.
Beyond his understanding of the role, his background is exceptionally strong. Tony Hullender wore the uniform in defense of our country as a member of the United States Army and didn’t stop fighting for what’s right as he advanced through the legal profession, ultimately serving as a Tennessee deputy attorney general.
As mayor of Soddy Daisy, I can assure you that District 27 would have an ally in Mr. Tony Hullender.
I hope you will join me in voting for Republican Tony Hullender during early voting, July 17 through August 1, or on Election Day, August 6. Soddy Daisy residents, don’t forget that you can take advantage of early voting at the Soddy Daisy Community Center.
Jim "Bo" Coleman, mayor of Soddy Daisy
