I got Hyundai Motor India share in the IPO at ₹1,960. Should I hold the stock or sell?

Er. Harminder Singh Gumbhir

Hyundai Motor India (₹1,956): The recent rise from the low of ₹1,658 made in April indicates a bullish trend reversal. Key support is at ₹1,900. A rise to ₹2,200 is possible. Can the price rise beyond ₹2,200? Not very sure about that. But if it does, then an extended rise to ₹2,400 is possible. Keep a stop-loss at ₹1,870 and hold the stock. Move the stop-loss up to ₹2,050 when the price goes up to ₹2,150. Exit 50 per cent of your holdings at ₹2,190 and move the stop-loss up to ₹2,140 for the balance. Move the stop-loss up to ₹2,240 and ₹2,320 when the price touches ₹2,290 and ₹2,370. Exit the stock at ₹2,400.

I have bought HeidelbergCement India shares at ₹184. What is the outlook?

Govindaraju

HeidelbergCement India (₹157):  The long-term uptrend that was in place since 2008 seems to have ended. The trend has reversed after forming a bearish head and shoulder pattern. The neckline resistance of this pattern is around ₹190. If the stock manages to breach ₹170, then a rise to ₹190 is possible but not beyond that. The outlook remains bearish. The share price can come down to ₹120. This fall can happen either from around ₹170 itself or after a corrective rise to ₹190. Since there is room to fall more from here, you can exit the stock and accept the loss. The stock has to rise above ₹190 to prove this bearish view wrong. But that is unlikely in the absence of any strong positive trigger.

What is the long-term outlook for Bank of India. I have bought this stock at around ₹140.

Vishal Shah, Mumbai

Bank of India (₹142): The trend is up and strong. But the price rise is happening at a slower pace. Supports are at ₹128 and ₹118. The stock can rise to ₹210 over the next one year. From a three-to-five-year time frame, there is potential for the stock to target ₹350-₹400. You can hold the stock and indeed accumulate at current levels. Keep the stop-loss at ₹95. Move the stop-loss higher to ₹165 as soon as the stock goes up to ₹195. Revise the stop-loss higher to ₹205 and ₹310 when the share price touches ₹265 and ₹340 respectively. Exit the stock at ₹390. As mentioned above, the stock is rising at a slow pace. So, you will need a lot of patience to hold this stock.

I have V-Guard Industries shares. My purchase price is ₹400. What is the outlook?

Jayaprakasan P

V-Guard Industries (₹291): The stock is in a strong downtrend since August 2024. But the price is coming close to a strong long-term support level of ₹275 which can halt the fall. A strong bounce from around ₹275 and a subsequent rise above ₹350 will indicate a bullish trend reversal. Such a rise will have the potential to take the share price higher to ₹600 over the next three years or so. You can accumulate the stock at ₹285. Keep a stop-loss at ₹220. Move the stop-loss up to ₹330 when the price goes up to ₹380. Revise the stop-loss higher to ₹410 and ₹480 when the share price touches ₹470 and ₹530, respectively. Exit the stock at ₹600. If the price declines below ₹275, then adhere to the stop-loss and exit.
