Bearish outlook suggests exiting or holding positions strategically
I’d like to know whether the GE Vernova T&D 4600-CE is good to hold or to exit
Nithilaa R

GE Vernova T&D India (₹4,157.40): The stock has been on a decline over the past month. While it entered a consolidation phase since early June, it breached the lower boundary of the range of ₹4,330-4,730 last week. This has turned the outlook bearish.
The stock might see a minor rally to retest the support-turned-resistance level of ₹4,330. But then, it is likely to resume the decline and fall to ₹3,900 and subsequently to ₹3,700 in the near term.
On the other hand, if the scrip breaks out of ₹4,330, it can extend the rally to ₹4,600.
However, the prevailing price action shows a bearish inclination and the outlook is weak. Hence, the stock recovering to ₹4,600 before the end of the current expiry is unlikely.
Therefore, you can exit the option if the stock rises to ₹4,330, where the premium might go up to ₹30-40 price range.
I have a short position on Kaynes Technology July futures. Selling price is ₹3,367.50. Should I hold or exit?
Palani Shanmugam
Kaynes Technology India (₹3,176.20): The long-trend is bearish for the stock. But since mid-May, it has largely been trading in a sideways band. That is, it has been oscillating between ₹3,000 and ₹3,450. Within this price region, the price fell 6.2 per cent last week.
As per the price action, the stock will most likely test ₹3,000 in the near term. But whether this will be breached is uncertain at the moment. If that happens, the scrip can depreciate to ₹2,750 swifty.
Considering the above, we suggest holding the short position with a target of ₹3,050. Also, we recommend having a stop-loss at your entry price of ₹3,367 so that the position is secured from potential loss, should there be a sudden reversal in trend.
After exiting, if the stock extends the fall and invalidates the base at ₹3,000, you can consider initiating fresh short positions thereafter.
