The genome sequence of the European Free-tailed Bat, Tadarida teniotis (Rafinesque, 1814) (Chiroptera: Molossidae) [version 1; peer review: awaiting peer review]

We present a genome assembly from an individual female Tadarida teniotis (European Free-tailed Bat; Chordata; Mammalia; Chiroptera; Molossidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 2 587.88 megabases and 2 416.25 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (94.1%) and haplotype 2 (97.35%) are scaffolded into 24 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the X sex chromosome. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 16.88 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland, and the Bat1K Project, which aims to sequence the genomes of all living bat species.
