A light-hearted Instagram post is winning over social media users by revealing a few simple Kannada expressions that can make shopping in Bengaluru more enjoyable and, in many cases, help buyers negotiate better deals. The viral post suggests that knowing a handful of local phrases can create a friendly connection with shopkeepers while improving the chances of receiving a discount.

The post, uploaded by the Instagram page Bangalore Viral, lists commonly used bargaining phrases that shoppers can use while visiting markets across India's technology hub. According to the page, speaking a few words in the local language often encourages warmer interactions with vendors and can make price negotiations smoother.

One of the most useful expressions recommended is Swalpa Kammi Maadi, which politely asks the seller to lower the price. Another handy phrase is Thumba Jaasti Aythu, used to indicate that the quoted amount feels too expensive.

Shoppers are also encouraged to ask for the Final Price Eshtu, a direct way of requesting the seller's best and final offer before making a purchase. Another phrase, Swalpa Kammige Kodthira?, is a courteous request asking whether the item can be sold at a slightly lower price.

For those ready to complete a purchase if they receive a discount, the phrase Kammi Maadidre Tagothini conveys that the buyer will purchase the product if the price is reduced. Meanwhile, Iddake Jaasti Aythu lets the shopkeeper know that the asking price seems too high for the particular item.

Customers planning to buy multiple products can use Eradu Tagothini, Kammi Maadi, which tells the seller they are willing to purchase two items if a better price is offered. If negotiations do not go as expected, Amele Barthini politely indicates that the shopper may return later.

Finally, Sari, Naanu Hogthini signals that the customer is prepared to walk away, a common bargaining tactic that sometimes prompts vendors to reconsider their pricing.

The Instagram post has resonated with users by showing that learning a few local Kannada phrases can make shopping in Bengaluru more interactive, enjoyable, and potentially more economical while fostering friendly conversations with local shopkeepers.
