To achieve Full Tier 4 Certification, Nilesat underwent a multi-stage evaluation process.

The World Teleport Association (WTA) has renewed the Tier 4 certification of Nilesat’s Cairo Teleport following a re-certification audit, reaffirming the facility’s adherence to the highest standards of operational excellence under the association’s Teleport Certification Programme.

Tier 4 represents the highest level of recognition in WTA’s certification framework, which independently evaluates teleport facilities based on service quality, operational performance and infrastructure. Full certification is awarded after an on-site audit validating more than 170 operational criteria and remains valid for three years.

Since its launch in 2015, the WTA Teleport Certification Programme has become a globally recognised benchmark for quality assurance in the teleport industry. The programme has certified 80 facilities worldwide, enabling teleport operators to demonstrate independently verified standards while helping customers evaluate service quality and performance.

Commenting on the achievement, Nilesat Chief Executive Officer Sameh Katta said: “Since Nilesat’s inception, we have been keen to maintain the highest level of service quality, and today by achieving the highest tier in the WTA certification programme, we confirm our commitment to maintain the highest international quality standards in satellite broadcasting services.

Alongside the certification, Nilesat revealed it has begun developing its own on-premises artificial intelligence support agent, making it one of the first teleports globally to undertake such an initiative. Initially intended as a management tool, the AI platform is expected to evolve to support a broader range of operational and service management functions.

The WTA has awarded certifications to numerous teleport operators worldwide, including facilities operated by Azercosmos, Eutelsat, Telespazio, Singtel, e&, Hispasat, Es’hailSat, ABS, Speedcast and Arqiva, among others. Nilesat’s renewed Tier 4 status further strengthens its position among the industry’s highest-rated teleport operators.
